{ 393 } video ♦ action
[The video is short and to the point, but he thought he would alert anyone who might want to know.]

I've recently taken over the maintenance work of the stables. If anyone ever needs something in those regards, just let me know. My name is Zero.

[He pauses before deciding to add in something else- ]

You may have already seen him on the network today, but my son is here. His name is Ren, and looks very similar to me- [ah. maybe he should also mention the more elusive family member who's much less sociable and polite] -as well as Ichiru, my twin who's also here. Although it's fairly easy to tell us apart.

shopping;
[As it is, the Kiryuu-Kuran residence - now with its fifth member - consumes a rather lot of food. Meaning, even though Zero stops by both the convenience store and Bull's Eye often enough, there's always a reason to go. Maybe even more so when they have Mika and Yuu over. He doesn't mind it, though; cooking for others is something he's come to like. He looks forward to doing so with both Ai and Ren.

. . .and speaking of the two, they're both with Yuuki at the moment. Of course he would've liked to join them, but he'll take on the task of preparing for the big dinner they'll be having tonight, as suggested by his son.

Feel free to find him among any of the aisles, his cart steadily filling up.]

shooting range;
[It's a bit after he dropped the groceries off at the apartment. No matter how frequent he comes here, he'll never like how the "ammunition" are made of foam, of all things. Granted, he's adapted fairly well to it. So much so that he hits the target more often than not. . . a major difference compared to how flawless he is with real bullets (or arrows, at any given time). Every now and again the trajectory ends up veering off. It's nothing new, but still irksome.

Maybe he could try and add more weight to them somehow. There has to be some kind of way, while still leaving them as harmless as they already are. Regardless, he'll continue.]

ice rink;
[Zero has only more recently come to the rink; within maybe the past week. For whatever the reason he hadn't thought much about it. Opposed to the other sports he engages in, this is more relaxing. He glides around easily. It's been years since he last was able to, yet it seems he's a regular at it, effortless.]

Yuuki;
[At some point he got a call from Yuuki, asking what he was up to. Seemingly Ai had abducted Ren for the rest of the afternoon. Zero continues to skate until she shows up. She's more than welcome to put a pair on to come join him, but it's up to her.]

So they ran off without you, huh?

[Teasing.]

No. I rolled her. [Flat. Zero isn't a liar-!

His eyes widen slightly to the comment about death, and quickly is aware that there's something he absolutely need to ask of him.]

There's something I need you to do for me, Mika. And Yuu if he's aware. So far as I know, Yuuki has not told her father that he died a long time ago. It's not something he's experienced yet. So please, don't bring that up should you converse with him. Yuuki needs to be the one to tell him.

In general, though, at the latest it can be moments before the person's death. Such as Haruka. . . along with my brother. [He pauses for a long moment, frowning. Maybe he shouldn't say anything else, but at the same time, it may not matter.] Ichiru had known he was going to die soon, though.

You didn't. [He doesn't believe Zero on this matter.

At the request, Mika looks away as if suddenly interested in some food they're passing by.]

I didn't know. [About Yuuki's dad being dead.] So you want me to not talk about it. For how long? How long is she gonna keep it from her dad?

[Quieter but certainly a vampire's enhanced hearing will pick up on it:] He seems like a nice dad.

Both of my parents died but they wouldn't want anything to do with me if they ever showed up here.

You're just as [stupidly] stubborn as she is.

[Didn't he say he wouldn't lie to you?]

I don't know. She feels he would distance himself from her. It would break his heart, she already knows that - obviously so. But no good will come if she continues to keep it from him, which is something that she does realize. I hope it happens sooner rather than later. Yuuki, she. . . to a degree she feels she's to blame for things that she wasn't at fault for, to put it one way.

He's a good person, though, yes. Here in Marina is the first time I've met him; beforehand I only had read the information on him that the Hunters' Association has on file. So far he's been nice. I'm glad Yuuki can see him again.

[There's still so much more behind all of it. He's sure that Mika and Yuu don't know of these details, though.

Zero quietly watches him for a few moments with that statement. Mika is so indifferent. He's not not sure if he should comment or ask anything. It may only be four days since they met, but he's already fully aware that Mika's world is a deplorable and horrific one.]

Then for your sake I hope they don't.

[Because what Mika should be given is kindness, not neglect.]

Am not.

[Yeaaaah, sorry but he's under the firm belief that everyone lies. Even just a little.]

If he loves her that much and senses that she's blaming herself for his death, he won't distance himself. If anything, he'll keep her closer. To do all the things he might not get to do with her otherwise.

He showed me how to fly a kite yesterday. [Before Mika knew what Haruka was. He also has to wonder if he'd do the same thing to the younger children who had died if they showed up here. It would be kind of similar to what Yuuki was experiencing but not. Her father was an adult - a grown-up... possibly really old. All Mika's family (who aren't his parents) are younger than him, he's supposed to be the one looking out for them.

A shrug of his shoulders.]
They were through with me before they died so they probably wouldn't even claim they were my parents.

[And now that Mika no longer shares their last name, they could get away with it too.]

Yuu-chan's parents weren't much better than mine. They probably died when the virus struck so it wasn't as long ago.

[Forget neglect - it was downright abuse. Now he looks over at Zero again.]

Would you tell your parents if they showed up here?

Yeah. That's what I keep telling her. The very last thing he would do is want to cut her out of his life here. [Really, knowing how Haruka is (already), that would only happen if hell froze over numerous times.]

Oh? Did you have fun? [ADMIT IT.] Yuuki almost was carried away.

[But no, really. Even while Mika would take in all of those kids, Zero and Yuuki would probably adopt them as well. You know this is true, come on.]

Ah. I remember you talking about that. [The idea of it is still disturbing.]

She asked me that same question. [A faint smile, though a little sad.] If they weren't from mere moment before they died, and I said that I knew their future, I'd warn them that it's nothing pleasant. After being given that information, if they still wanted to know, then I would tell them the truth. And as for what happened to me. . . that's also something that would break their hearts, but I know they wouldn't feel any different. I suppose because they know exactly the kind of person I am.

[Kind, compassionate, hard working. . . None of that ever changed. For awhile, it simply was buried deep.]
