[The video is short and to the point, but he thought he would alert anyone who might want to know.]

I've recently taken over the maintenance work of the stables. If anyone ever needs something in those regards, just let me know. My name is Zero.

[He pauses before deciding to add in something else- ]

You may have already seen him on the network today, but my son is here. His name is Ren, and looks very similar to me- [ah. maybe he should also mention the more elusive family member ~~who's much less sociable and polite~~] -as well as Ichiru, my twin who's also here. Although it's fairly easy to tell us apart.

shopping;
[As it is, the Kiryuu-Kuran residence - now with its fifth member - consumes a rather lot of food. Meaning, even though Zero stops by both the convenience store and Bull's Eye often enough, there's always a reason to go. Maybe even more so when they have Mika and Yuu over. He doesn't mind it, though; cooking for others is something he's come to like. He looks forward to doing so with both Ai and Ren.

. . .and speaking of the two, they're both with Yuuki at the moment. Of course he would've liked to join them, but he'll take on the task of preparing for the big dinner they'll be having tonight, as suggested by his son.

Feel free to find him among any of the aisles, his cart steadily filling up.]

shooting range;
[It's a bit after he dropped the groceries off at the apartment. No matter how frequent he comes here, he'll never like how the "ammunition" are made of foam, of all things. Granted, he's adapted fairly well to it. So much so that he hits the target more often than not. . . a major difference compared to how flawless he is with real bullets (or arrows, at any given time). Every now and again the trajectory ends up veering off. It's nothing new, but still irksome.

Maybe he could try and add more weight to them somehow. There has to be some kind of way, while still leaving them as harmless as they already are. Regardless, he'll continue.]

ice rink;
[Zero has only more recently come to the rink; within maybe the past week. For whatever the reason he hadn't thought much about it. Opposed to the other sports he engages in, this is more relaxing. He glides around easily. It's been years since he last was able to, yet it seems he's a regular at it, effortless.]

Yuuki;
[At some point he got a call from Yuuki, asking what he was up to. Seemingly Ai had abducted Ren for the rest of the afternoon. Zero continues to skate until she shows up. She's more than welcome to put a pair on to come join him, but it's up to her.]

So they ran off without you, huh?

[Her brows knit, and staring ahead a moment, she gives a half shake of her head.]

I don't understand how it works to be honest. [If this is a virtual reality, is it as easy as opening up her memories of the past? Have they actually always been there, and they've simply been hidden from her, or is it something more?]

I remember going to bed last night, and flying kites yesterday. [That hasn't changed.] But I also remember moving with Ai back home, dealing with some affairs, and my evening at the academy.

[Expelling a soft breathe she wrinkles her nose.]

Actually, it's making my head hurt. It's like two different sets of memories happening all at once.

He gets to his feet and gestures towards the exit. They can head out.]

[Rising, she brushes off her skirts and moves toward the door beside him.]

You've been at it for a while, but it's taking some time due to your work. [Which must surely be a given. To be honest, she doesn't know when he finds time to eat or even breathe. Of course she's frustrated over a number of things back home, but maybe... their time apart will allow him to get some more rest?

This way he can at least use a little extra time for sleep, perhaps.

For her, though...? At his question a faint touch of irritation (no where near directed at him) darkens her eyes.]

I guess you could say I've been busy, though, too. [Certainly so, although until recently she has always had plenty of time to watch and play with Ai. While still in the public eye as necessary, she's always been afforded ample time at home to raise her daughter.] Perhaps more so lately than normal, no thanks to extremely idiotic and foolish individuals, whom it seems I have no choice but to spell things out to harshly.

[Biting the inside of her cheek as they move, she practically bristles. She's still angry about it all.]

Ah. That part isn't surprising. [At all.] Even from the last point I remember from home things had been rapidly becoming more busy.

[He probably sleeps and breathes during 85% of class time, of course. It's not as though he needs to study a great deal to pass, or to understand what's going on.

Well that's an attitude he hasn't really seen in a while.]

Why? What's going on? Has there been an increase in rogue vampires?

[Are they considered such? Some merely express disappointment or perhaps threaten, while others take action. Those are the ones she's most concerned about of course.]

It seems... that society on my end of things is very concerned with my personal affairs. And when unhappy with whomever I wish to associate with, some cause a scene and make a fuss.

[While Zero can handle himself rather well, that doesn't mean that accidents don't happen, and one misstep would be disastrous.]

For that reason, I had to make it unequivocally clear that I won't allow the useless destruction of life, and that such attempts would only result in their own unnecessary deaths.

[It's ridiculous that she has to spell it out to begin with.]

I'm extremely angry that such fools can't seem to grasp concepts so simple, or that anyone would have the audacity to think that it's my obligation to follow what they feel to be the proper course for my future in return for their what...? Their reverence? I didn't ask for it in the first place.

That kind of thing sounds like it still would involve the hunters. Vampires acting a=out, no matter the reason, isn't something that would go unnoticed.

From what I gather, it's as though they don't realize that you're unlike any pureblood that there has ever been. It's only predictable that they try and get you to behave in what they see is the "proper" way. [If that's also the problem?

He frowns and simply watches her for a moment.]

If they know better, then hopefully that kind of conduct will cease to continue. . . . Not that I can fully see that.

It's ridiculous. [Even if what he says is true, and she knows it to be. But while she's different, she doesn't think the way things have been up to this point has been right either. The sanctity of the pureblood is too heavily protected, and ultimately is what helped aid in her brother's last actions.

Being unable to cry openly, or spend time with a friend... what right does anyone have to make such decisions for someone else?]

But I agree. I'm under no illusions. The association is hardly thrilled about the state of things either. [Which, in all likelihood, means there are many among them who are unhappy with her, too.]

Due to the state of things, I've had to move with Ai. We're upon academy grounds now, in a dormitory deep in the woods that isn't in use at the moment. Kaname's presence protects the area, and makes it impossible for vampires with any malicious intent in their hearts to approach. So for now, it's the safest place for us.

[While she has no intention of standing down and not putting a stop to the harassment against Zero, it would never come at the neglect or endangerment of her daughter.]

Aidou-senpai, Ruka-san, and Kain-san have all helped me tremendously though. And actually, in regards to Aidou, I have some happy news to report.

[All of it is so disheartening to hear, however honestly (completely) understandable.

Although, her being able to even speak that man's name without tearing up is something which especially stands out. Zero wonders when that first began— it certainly was a while after his own most recent memories.]

So even Ai was included in all of this. . .

[It's more of a murmur to himself, one of his hands balling into a fist. Did she have to remain housed in, as Yuuki had when she was still very young?]

I'm glad that she was well taken care of, though. And I'm glad, too, that you now have memories of her. [a faint smile] It's good to hear that you were surrounded by others while you were pregnant, too. I know that it must have taken quite a while.

[Now that part just makes him curious] Oh?

[... That's right. It had been so soon after everything. While there's a small frown, the fact that he's been within his ice tomb for so long, now, is certainly something she's had to grow used to. She'll never be comfortable with it all, but while the pain never truly goes away, she can talk of those events when she must.

There's no use pretending what happened never did.]

Oh... so Zero probably doesn't know anything about Aidou and Yori-chan's relationship...

I'm glad for them too! They deserve to be happy together. Yori-chan had been patiently trying to wait for the day when he would.

[It's so cute and she's truly elated, and it's clear.]

Yori-chan set to helping Aidou-senpai sort through Kaname's old records and notes. [She hums...] Our personal records and library is rather extensive, as well as whatever he's gone through outside of it. [It's a lot to explain] Kaname had a number of theories, formulas and research on a cure for vampirsim. But the problem is that much of it is incomplete, and requires technology that we don't yet have developed functionally at home.

[Her thoughts on some of it all are mixed, but she's only needing to give the facts right now.]

Anyhow, they spent a bunch of time together there, and while she's busy and working, much of it all goes to helping aid him still, as well.

[Yuuki's just glad that she's been able to see her more in the past, although perhaps that will have to slow down for a while now, too.]

You should see her. She's become so beautiful and mature. It's no wonder that Aidou is so love-struck.

Why was she waiting? [Was he not ready, or too nervous, or—? Sorry, he has to ask you, Yuuki.]

A cure. . . That makes it sound like they're making being a vampire out to be some kind of disease. If that happens, I wonder if the individual would lose their memories.

[Although he isn't positive on how he feels about it. Maybe just in a general sense. If the comment about it states that there's little that the present science capabilities, then it has to be something that is quite different than the only other way of purebloods being able to turn a vampire human at the cost of their own life.

That begs the question, though, again in regards to Aidou and Yori: ]

On the opposite side, though. . . is she looking to become a vampire?

[He can kind of see both sides, but also is unsure.]

He sounds very dedicated. Although we all know how devoted he was towards Kuran. Being able to continue with his work is something that sounds very like Aidou.

[All of that aside, though, to see Yuuki smiling in such a way is something he's been longing for, for some time now.]

I'm sure she is. And it's great to hear, too. They deserve to be happy.

[There's so much to respond to, and she fumbles for a moment with where to start first. After some hesitation, she decides to simply pick a point and plow forward.]

I dislike that it's being treated as somewhat of a disease. Actually- [Funny he should say that] The existence of vampires is commonly known now. But most vampires still do not reveal who and what they are to humans for obvious reasons. The media and government of course is treating what we are as though we have an illness that needs curing, as well.

[While she's glad that it's not entirely a secret anymore, she's not really satisfied with where things are at for the moment.]

As for Aidou, well, he--

[She glances away, feeling a little uncomfortable finally. It's not exactly easy to talk about.]

For some reason, due to the fact that he takes pride in... serving beneath me, as he puts it, he didn't... want to get married before me, or some such nonsense...

[But well-- she can't force herself to marry simply so that he can, either. Her voice has certainly fallen to a murmur. Ahem-- ]

Yori-chan hasn't asked me any such thing though. Apparently, although I only heard such from you, Aidou has been asking her the same thing. [Gaze shifting forward again, her blows knit.] Of course I'm... tossed. I would like to spend all of my years with Yori-chan and the people I most love. If she asked me and it was her wish, I would certainly change her.

[She doesn't want to lose her.]

But only time will tell. As for the others, they seem happy as well. Everyone is busy in their own way. I tend to see Ruka-san perhaps more than anyone else, and she's always happy to visit with both myself and Ai.

It's publicly known already? [He seems surprised] That feels very fast, even though I know it was bound to happen at some point. Although for vampires to keep quiet based on personal choice is understandable. The disease part does sound a little ridiculous. Are they going to take what the vampires feel about it in consideration?

[He can't really see it. Even he has stated that, given the option, he wouldn't choose to become a human again. That's just the way he feels; he's come to accept himself.]

I see. I guess that's something that can still come with time. Still, it's comforting to know that both of you are well taken care of.

[Even if in comparison Yori's lifespan is far more precious.

He watches her for several moments in silence as she continues. Once again is she so easy to read.

He stalls. Wait a minute—] Before you. . .?

[There's something more to that at the tip of his tongue. Is it too soon to ask?

. . .Maybe a little bit more. After they reach their apartment.]

Does the government ever take into consideration how vampire society feels?

[In a way, she feels that's half the problem. Certainly they have their own issues and pride to work through. But she doesn't pretend to think that treating them as though they are diseased, or some highly parasitic being helps tensions. It only makes it more tense, which causes more problems for all of them.

The start of a question, though, draws her gaze back to him. She has an idea of what he'd like to ask, but... well-- she'll start with something else to begin.]

. . . Things have been complicated recently, Zero.

[She frowns]

Recently tensions have been high. A lot of it is due to those same selfish individuals who claim reverence and yet act out. [She glances up at him] Because people disapprove of the shared bond between us, there have been those who have targeted you out of arrogance.

[It's ridiculous, and it makes her blood boil all over again to think of it. Zero is not the tainted or dirty one. Those idiotic monsters don't know anything.]

Dissidents even went so far as to target Yori, simply out of frustration because their true target is too difficult of an opponent. [And that had been what caused her to nearly lose her composure. That some would go so far simply because she had no interest in finding a pureblood lord.]

. . . After that, we both agreed that for the time being, until tensions cool, that we'll only meet occasionally at one of the benches at Cross Academy. For the sake of each other and for the people we care about, it's the only option at this time if we want to maintain peace.

[Ah. That really is all too true.] So everything really has only continued to grow more complex and trying from that day. It's no surprise.

[One of his hands balls into a fist. Is it that much of a commonplace for him to be attacked, then? Or ore like attempted. He hates that Yori is caught up in this.]

I can see plenty of hunters also disagreeing, albeit not trying to stir anything up. [He hopes?] There was already plenty of that when it comes to how there's a vampire among them, and especially with how I'm to be president, even though they can acknowledge why I'm going to be in that position in the first place.

[He absolutely hates the idea of not being able to see her much, even if he understands the reasons. Just as much as he knows he'll abide by that decision between the two of them.

He falls silent when they reach their home. He can't sense anyone else inside at the moment. Again he pauses, his hand upon the door knob. A breath expelled to give him another moment to reconsider.

Which he doesn't need - can't find himself able - to.]

What about me? [He (finally) starts, quiet, however not looking to her just yet.] Have I kept the promise I made to you in this place, regardless of everything that's been happening back home? . . .Have I been able to be there with you, and not leave you?

[Please, please tell him that he has.]

[When his hand touches the knob she expects him to open it immediately. Instead he pauses, and she stumbles to a halt. Her gaze focuses on his hand, before trailing up to his face, hidden beneath the fringe of his bangs.

What he's asking, coupled with the anxiousness in his voice, tugs at her heart. He's truly worried about what part he's played in her life, and the effect it's had upon her.

Studying him for only a moment more, she reaches out to grasp one of his arms.]

Zero...

[With a gentle tug she prompts him to turn around and face her, her opposite hand lifting to settle upon his other arm too. Forcing him to look at her, she smiles.]

What are you talking about?

[What a precious person he is.]

Through no fault of Zero's, I struggle with various emotions at times. I worry... because despite how important you must realize you are to me, there are some weights that still rest upon my shoulders.

[And they will always weight her down. They've certainly lessened, but some are tied to her. But while they are there...]

When I struggle through those low moments, you've always been there, helping to carry and pull me through. Even not all that long ago... in my confusion as to why you still choose to remain at my side, despite all the flaws I carry, I told you something similar to what I said here in the past. If you ever wanted to leave me, I would understand. [Even though it would destroy her heart. She can't afford to be selfish with this person.]

But do you know what you told me...?

[Her smile is faintly amused, but soft as she tugs him down to her, eyes meeting his so that she can rest her forehead against his own.]

You said to me that it was impossible. 'Something like that is out of the question...' You said.

[She shakes her head]

You were coming over so often, even in the face of criticism and all your work, that I was the one who had to tell you that for now, we have to stop such things until things calm down. [She rubs her hands upon his arms, as though to shake some sense into him.]

Don't you see? You haven't once faltered upon that promise. Not even a little.
