[ Okay, full disclosure, Aidan is still reeling from the surprise visit the other day but he has chores to do and things to work out and yeah okay maybe he's doing that thing where you give yourself a thousand things to do so you don't get too stuck in your head but of course that doesn't work an-

He needs some coffee. A lot of coffee.

Aidan can be found scurrying about the dome, appropriately distracted, tripping over kite lines and mainlining coffee. He'll make a stop at the clinic for a checkup, drop by the Athletic Center to practice his baseball throws in a manner that can only be described as aggressively determined and then later, at the end of the day, he'll slowly deflate in the Memorial Garden, planting some heather with great care. Strong, sturdy, able to withstand tough climates... yeah, this is about something. He'll stay there until after nightfall unless someone makes him leave. ]

[Because really, there were so many things wrong with this. The wardens showing you you have kids before your time to have 'em? Bad. The wardens bringing those kids here? Worse. The wardens taking those kids away the next morning? They had a lot to answer for. Mal takes another drink.]

[ Aidan nods. Yeah. More like a canyon than a hole but in some ways it's not as bad as it could be. A bittersweet pain, for sure. He takes a sip of his drink, careful not to get too caught up in it. ]

It sucks but on one hand... 's more than I thought I'd get, y'know? I dunno if I told you 'bout this, but ah... I was pretty sure I'm goin' to die back home. So havin' them here, knowing I'm still alive back home and that my parents are okay...

's more than I've gotten in all the time I've been here. It's- hope, y'know? Gives me a reason to get out of here.

[ He liked being part of one. Never really done that before, not since he left home at least. He always ended up tagging along on the side, not quite part of whatever group he was following at the time. ]

Guess we'll see how it plays out. I haven't given up on it or nothin', for th' record. I, uh... I liked having that. Y'know? Knowin' what was going to happen if we get out of here.

Ain't a problem though. You wantin' to go be with them. I get that. I've seen the way Simon looks at his sister. People do anythin' for family. It's good to have that option.

[See him be all good and helpful. He's grown as a person. Of course, he's completely pushed down anything he actually feels about the subject, so maybe not so much.]
