392 - Kite Mingle

[If you're outside today it will be hard to miss all the whimsical, high-flying kites. Might as well get some of your own or spend some time getting them out of trees.]

[Alright. The past couple days have been more than a little difficult. With the arrival and then disappearance of people, the stress of keeping quiet regarding current events with her father, their new neighbor children next door, and a number of other factors.

But maybe that's why she's decided to come out here today, fly a kite, and give herself an emotional pause. She's in comfortable clothing, sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat. The bright light of the 'sun' is a little difficult when staring up into the sky so much after all.

Her mistake for the day, maybe, is having decided on a power kite. She went for it because it was so large, but--

Her eyes widen in alarm when a particularly strong gust of wind catches the kite just right. Her hat blows off and it's then that she feels her feet suddenly begin to lift off the ground.]

Ah-!

[Someone keep her grounded?]

[The worst part of the last couple of days... she had a brother and now he's gone. A sibling she didn't know about and the wardens would do nothing to change that at this time. Not evenough rehab points - as if Ai was going to stand for that. She will get all of the rehab points and then she'd get memories of her brother.

That wasn't the only thing that was happening but it was the most frustrating. Though Ai was instantly pushing that thought aside when she spots her mother trying to fly one of the largest kites around. "Trying" being the key word seeing as how it was lifting her off the ground.

With a sigh, she heads over and reaches out to grab hold of the string as well.]

Did you really need to pick the biggest kite around, mother?

	[Is this even a question?] I thought that it would look the most impressive in the sky! [Doesn't she think mom looks cool flying a huge kite?? At least until a moment ago. As Ai's hands reach up and take hold of one of the ends along with her, she at least feels a little more in control of it. I'm sure it will when you're hanging from the end as its tail after it flies off with you.

[Not that Ai is that much taller than her mother. Anything that flies has the potential to take off with someone, especially with the breeze this strong.

Suddenly Ai finds herself holding on to one part of the kite alone and she looks down at her hand before looking over at Yuuki. She tightens her grip on it.]

Did you pick it so you could get me to join you?

[Because that wasn't necessary.]

[Haruka isn't really interested in flying kites. He has his own agenda, and he's currently doing that, by being the embarrassing father watching a short distance away as mother and daughter tackle flying a kite much too large.

It's as if the world is glitter and rainbows, he's so elated to be watching what Yuuki's never been allowed to do in memory. It could only be better, if Juri's there.

Ah, but... it's kind of lonely watching. Except they're adorable trying to keep themselves on the ground. Though he doesn't want them to fly off. That's no good, either.

What's a father to do?]

[After all both of her grandfathers were the sort to do such things, not that Ai really minds it.

A shadow falls over them and she looks back to see one of the people of her family who would do something that required getting close to the person they love. There's a hint of a smile as she looks away.]

Ah, now I see the real reason. You wanted ojiisan to come fly with us too. [Definitely teasing her mother.]

I have some experience. When your mother decided to go to school, I spent my time trying to find things to do with her.

And now I get to do it with my precious daughter and granddaughter. It makes me very happy.
