Day 389 : Video/Action : Anniversary
[Kitty appears on the video with bruises from a failed strangling fading on her neck. Things got rough a couple of days ago.]

So, it's Day 389 which also means it's been a year since I got here. And since the only other one who made that length of time is gone now, I guess I'm the reigning champ of sticking around. Celebrate or mourn it with me at Lyrical I guess. Funny hats are a plus. [She doesn't really know how to feel about it, but she figures it will be better to be not alone.]

Everyone's invited. [That was for Reid. Just in case he forgot, but if newbies want to party too then she doesn't really mind. She'll be set up on a small, comfy couch nursing a drink and listening to the music she requested from the music station. She isn't actually wearing a funny hat...yet?]

[It's just kind of soon for it? She doesn't want to hide it from him. She just doesn't want to flaunt it either. And, yes, maybe she's a little afraid of him judging her because he has made comments in the past about her moving too fast with him and others. And his opinions still matter a lot to her.

She doesn't like him thinking less of her, but of all the things in her life she wishes had gone differently the speed of forming connections doesn't really make the cut. People have different needs, preferences, and comfort zones. This makes sense for her and her life. Or at least other things have. She is still a bit more timid in this now with Pavel since the pace of her life has slowed since being in the prison.

But do you know what she's thinking about instead of any of that? She's thinking his touch feels gentle and good and that his lips are soft and pleasant. She's thinking she feels better than she has in awhile.]

[Chekov is thinking about many, many things because that's what he does, and some of those things are concerns about the potential consequences of getting closer to Kitty. Not for himself—he really is convinced that he's indestructible—but for her. She's had an impressively bad run of luck where men are concerned and he doesn't want to add to that.

He's also thinking about how much he's missed having this kind of touch and warmth and intimacy. Lucy was over a year and a half ago and there hasn't been anyone since. Chekov is fine on his own, but he doesn't always want to be.

He pulls back to breathe. Breathing is important.]

You could stay with me in this prison, too, sometimes.

[Her heart beats a little faster as she looks into his eyes, processing what he just said—offered.] I... [Maybe she should have waited until she knew what she was going to say.]

I'm not sure what I'm ready for. [There was such clarity at home. An absolute need for making a decision even if it might not be the perfect one. You had to make split second choices and barely had time to regret them before the next was upon you. That's changed here too. She doubts herself now. Has too much time to turn things over in her mind.]

But I like this. [At least some things are still clear.]

	The best kind of social. [This feels really good and she's not sure if she's allowed to just go where the good feelings are. Is it safe? Is it wise?
