Day 375 — Open Action/Private Video

[So much happened yesterday, but they were only dreams. Only dreams that she still remembers almost as vividly as memories even hours after waking up. Only dreams that everyone who shared them will also likely remember. Only dreams where she told at least three different men she loved them and none of them were Reid. Only dreams that are making her feel small and confused and violated today.

She doesn't blame anyone who made an appearance. She's trying not to blame herself, but that's easier said than done. No, this is on the warden's and the way they play with their minds and emotions. Which, that's all they are right now, isn't it? Their bodies are locked away in tanks and their minds are a playground for their robotic overlords. She's angry, but the anger isn't on the surface yet. There's too much guilt and worry and hurt...and longing on top of it.

Of course she dreamed about being with people. About openly saying she's in love. It's what she's been wanting to get back to with Reid. It's simple, right? Why doesn't it feel simple right now? Probably because she's locked herself up in her room with no one to talk to about any of this. She's either slept with all her friends or their significant others. And then there's Reid. She wants to see him. Wants him to hold her and tell her it's all okay, but she's afraid she'll hear, "I just can't do this." That doesn't leave a lot of people to lean on.

Not terribly long ago her reaction to this might have been doing something brash and impulsive. Maybe even reckless and self-destructive. She doesn't want that now. But she's not sure what she wants in place of it other than not feeling like this anymore.]

[She finally makes her way out of the apartment, taking a long route to the Defense Force headquarters if only to avoid passing too closely to other apartments and popular sites. Who would be in the cemetery, right? When she gets to her office she gathers some things up to work on, not interested in staying long.]

Heard it from him that you were back together. 'How it should be'. [Can you hear him mock Reid's tone there? Good.]

Tried to tell me off about you being old enough to defend your country like it compares to dating a guy his age. Told me I employ children and shouldn't judge. [Which okay is a dick move of him to first imply the age gap is weird, but - really. He's a little protective on a good day and you remind him of Rogue. He'd grill someone else all the same. You know how he feels about your verse's Magneto shacking up with her.] Made him eat those words back up.

[Her take away from this shouldn't be "he said us together is how it should be?" should it? But mocking or not it actually feels really good to hear and then of course it stirs that pit of guilt inside about the dreams. The dreams she couldn't control. The dreams she never asked for. The dreams that happened TO her, but still the dreams she has to deal with now and she's not sure how to go about it without making everything worse.]

He was talking about my world. I mean, my Logan did teach me to kill when I was 13. Well, I guess I was 14 by then. Still... not fair to throw back on you. Or my Logan. It's not like any of us had any choice there.

And if you were questioning my age and ability to make my own choices [You are getting a stern look, sir.] I'm glad he told you off to save me the trouble. [Damn well better not have hurt him.]

I don't really need people trying to get in his head and convince him I'm too young for him, thanks. [The fact that it didn't seem to work makes her feel better though.]

Besides, I'm guessing all this went down the day they were screwing with our emotional responses? [Because as nice and reassuring as some of it is to hear, it also...doesn't really sound like her guy.]

[Logan can't really vocalize exactly what his intent was here, or how he feels that the way Reid was acting was really a red flag for concern. Age did factor in and he still thinks you're a kid and Reid's an adult here but above that, Reid seemed like a fuckwit of an adult. But how do you say any of this? You don't, not as Logan.

[If anyone can think of her as a kid it's Logan, but only because part of her sees him as Dad even if she'd never use the word. Becomes a lot less okay if it leads to her losing Reid again. Then again if someone he'd never even met before calling her a kid is enough to shake him loose then it's over before it even began. Not to mention, she still doesn't know how either of them are reacting to the dreams. She used to trust their bond to get them through whatever came up. Definitely past tense.]

Day 368. Do they skip you every time or something?
