Day 374 Shared Dreaming
Dream 1: Afterglow
[Welcome to the afterglow. You're all wrapped up in each other, flushed, and pleasantly exhausted. Maybe you see each other as naked and curled up in bed together or maybe you're in the shower up against a wall in the living room or an alley in some partial state of dress. Maybe you're defiling a tree out in public. There are so many places available for these things. Was it a surprise or is your mind already hard at work making it make sense to you? Hard to say if it's all cuddling and pillow talk from here or just a cool down before round two (or three?)]

That was amazing. [She still sounds breathless.]

Dream 2: Home Sweet Home
[You've arrived inside the living room of a middle class couple living in Deerfield, Illinois. It's a cozy space—lived in, but not too messy. There's a thirteen year old girl with bushy brunette hair sitting at the dining room table reading the same page of a book over and over again. Her father and mother are sitting on the couch in the adjoining living room watching some television. You can't interact with them yet. The front door is blasted open sending splinters of it flying across the room. Then large men who are more technology and armor than flesh and blood file inside. You can't speak or move. You feel trapped and helpless as you watch this play out. The girl drops her book and stares but she seems just as frozen as you.

One of the Infinite soldiers says, "Designate Katherine Pryde, suspected alpha mutant, confirmed present. Proceed with acquisition." The parents look scared, but they don't hesitate putting themselves between the soldiers and their daughter, crying out in protection of her. If you're lucky your eyes are on the girl. You'll see hers widen in horror and you'll hear the blasts, but you won't have to see the things she sees. The things she'll never be able to unsee. And then she and you are both unfrozen as she turns to run, fleeing directly through a wall as the Infinites pursue.]

Don't bother following. She gets away. [The voice is of the Kitty Pryde you recognize from the prison. Maybe she's been standing there watching the whole time too.]

Upstairs. [Clearly. She moves into one of the rooms. It's her bedroom. You can tell because there are pink things and when you're a girl of a certain age there is no way to avoid the color. Blue is dominate though from the curtains to the bedspread. There are posters on the wall that feel clear when you look at them but the words won't register. Not really. Kitty sits on the bed and picks up a photo that was sitting on the nightstand.]

I don't think I even had this in here. But I can usually find it when I visit. [It's a picture of the three of them—mother, father, and young Kitty playing in a park. They look happy.]

[He's not sure he understands what she means either, but he gives a small nod and joins her on the bed. He can see the picture better. Is it silly to be jealous no such thing turns up in his dreams? His mother has always been a faceless apparition. Even Bianca is becoming more vague, her features fuzzing away.]

Yeah. I guess that happens... [He'd like to say he understands, but he's not sure he does. Forgetting and having your memories wiped aren't really the same.]

	[Something similar was true for her until the wardens gave her a disc with her parents on it recently. She's watched it at least once every day since then. The faces got clearer after that. 	Mm...Out. I didn't trust going anywhere familiar because I was afraid they'd find me there and kill my friends too. I got on the bus and went into other neighborhoods and just found places to sleep. I figured the phasing out enough to be able to get into stores and restaurants after they closed. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I was cornered. Sabertooth and Sinister had found me. I was still fighting back and trying to get away but without any training and after months of being exhausted and lonely from the run already. I was an assassin. Strategic hits, trying to lower the number of major players costing thousands of lives under them. [And that's all the defense she'll give herself even though there's more to give like the part where she had nothing and was young and impressionable and had little choice in the decision. If he still wants to judge her for it then he won't be the only one in this room who does.]
