[Day 369] Defense Force Mingle

This afternoon we're going to do a thing. Be at the headquarters. If you know someone who isn't a member, but they're interested in joining you can bring them too. [She knows it may not be the best day after hearing this morning's announcement, but since the wardens played with them yesterday she knows the day should be clear of their interference and they have some new recruits so they should probably all meet each other.]

[The thing in question is on the roof of the headquarters. Kitty brought food and drinks which thankfully she did not prepare. It's all snack-sized finger foods. She wants everyone to have a chance to know their teammates better. She isn't going to force any group activities but there are some tables and chairs for people who want to relax more or maybe play a game. She did leave a few decks of cards out.]

I live up in Northern Japan. My family house... the one I've stayed at in the past, anyway, is located up in the mountains. It's really isolated and surrounded by nature.

[There isn't really anyone who goes to visit there.]

The academy though is a little different. It's still surrounded by mountains, but I feel it's just a little more forest-y. The town is nearby though, so it doesn't feel desolate or anything. Most of the streets are cobblestone, and the whole area is well kept.

	That sounds really peaceful and comfortable. [There's a bittersweet fondness to the way he replies.] Where I'm from is also really mountainous and forest-like, though also it's an island. We're a very small community, but it's nice. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The manor house can be a little isolating. [Maybe if she had been able to enjoy the outdoors her memories of it wouldn't be so dark.]

But the academy was always a wonderful place to live. [It was nice getting to go back even if only for a short time.]

Your home sounds similar to my own, then, though. I do enjoy nature. Although it's fun being in town among people too.
