[Day 369] Defense Force Mingle

This afternoon we're going to do a thing. Be at the headquarters. If you know someone who isn't a member, but they're interested in joining you can bring them too. [She knows it may not be the best day after hearing this morning's announcement, but since the wardens played with them yesterday she knows the day should be clear of their interference and they have some new recruits so they should probably all meet each other.]

[The thing in question is on the roof of the headquarters. Kitty brought food and drinks which thankfully she did not prepare. It's all snack-sized finger foods. She wants everyone to have a chance to know their teammates better. She isn't going to force any group activities but there are some tables and chairs for people who want to relax more or maybe play a game. She did leave a few decks of cards out.]

	Yeah, I know. [He told her yesterday how hot and super-confident Ianto was, didn't he? He wishes he'd thought of the potential consequences of that on people other than himself, now.] I'm pretty sure the AIs and their games are not entirely to blame for this, though. It was right after Rose left. I said something about how she might come back and he said something about how no one ever really comes back or how it doesn't work out if they do.

And I used you and Ianto as an example of a couple who stayed together after it and he just... [mocked it and made Ianto sound unhappy.] You know, he was Spike with a broken heart. He wasn't that clear.

	Right. [It comes out clipped and rather bitter. That was about what he'd expected from Spike.] And Ianto? Did he say anything about how he feels about Spike? About what it is that's got them feeling so close? I tried to get him to tell me what it is between them, but all he could say was that he can talk to Spike! (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Not really. [She was more concerned that something was wrong with Ianto and Jack at the time the spoke. He mentioned a drunk kiss with Spike and being attracted to him, but none of that is really a surprise, right?] Nothing past the obvious. Spending a day thinking you're with someone can have...long-lasting effects. [Not looking directly at Jack as she says this part.]

But you say that like you don't believe him? Or it's not enough?

Yeah, I know there's that... [A lingering look at her, which she doesn't see because she's not looking at him.

He shakes his head wearily.] I don't know what to believe. I don't know what to think! I just... I know there's something between them, but it has to be something pretty intense for him to just go out and bang Spike without thinking about the blue band situation! Without even telling me what he'd done, until I heard it on the announcement this morning!
