[DAY 340] "DEAD BACK HOME" GROUP THERAPY MINGLE
[This group therapy session takes place in an appropriately-sized study room in the Education Center. There is one large oval table for everyone to sit at, and a smaller snack table off at the side.]

[The session is divided into two parts.]

PART ONE: Mourning Yourself
Discussion
— Did you harbor any regrets before your death? And if so, is there anything you can do for them with your newfound time?
— Do you know how you died? How did you learn? Did you arrive near-death, or did you hear about it from a friend? How do you feel about the particular details of it?
— Who or what killed you? Have you forgiven it or them? Why or why not?
— Is there anything you wish you could change? Why? Discuss.

Activities
— Write your own obituary or eulogy. Once you've read it out loud, you'll be invited to burn it with a bot-offered candle. (The bot will not hand over the candle.)
— Picture yourself attending your own funeral. When it's your turn to pay your respects to yourself, what would you say? What thoughts occur to you?
— Write a letter to at least one of your loved ones. What would you say about your death to them?

[After this, there is a break. Coffee and tea are provided, along with both savory and sweet snacks. You're still not allowed to leave, though.]

PART TWO: Moving Forward
Discussion
— What dreams and hobbies did you have before? Can you pursue them now?
— Discuss what your previous goals were. What are similar things you can do to achieve them here?
— What kinds of relationships have you made, or would kinds would you like to have?

Activities
— Write down your plans for your future. Partner up and discuss them in-depth to flesh them out better.
— Come up with a daily routine, emphasizing your interests. Refer to others to help you find relevant resources or activities.
— Draw yourself 5, 10, or 25 years from now. Share it with a partner or the group.

-
((OOC: You're also welcome to come up with any of your own activities/therapeutic discussion topics! Everything offered here is just a starting point.))

Yeah? Not everyone fills there time here so well. What's on the schedule so far?

Regular meals and naps! I particularly like the part where I can be out of bed during night time hours. That was an issue in Demeleier.

Between those, so far I have drawing and reading to fill my time. I did join the welcoming committee, but I certainly feel like I need something else that's more steady!

Any suggestions?

[Sometimes this is where she brings up the force, but she's feeling less inclined in this case having little to base such a recommendation on at this point.]

Aidan has a community garden. I'd ask if you have a green thumb, but it seems pretty obvious.

[Calliope looks up at Kitty, staring with her mouth open slighly. She can't quite decide how to react right away, but eventually a giggle wins out.]

I do!

But really, that's a very good idea. Since I helped with the crops and gardens, I already know some things about plants. I won't need to be taught the basics. Thank you for the suggestion!

[She writes it down.]

[As far as reactions go, that's a pretty good one. Pushing people away used to be her thing. Now it's more or less by accident when she does it, and she'd rather not succeed at it.]

You're making a list?

[Calliope looks back up, blinking.]

Am I not supposed to? [She isn't sure if she's doing the exercise right or not, now.]

I guess you can do whatever you want. Just surprised it's so official.

[She looks a little embarrassed.]

I admit, I'm taken by the luxury of having so much paper on hand! I used to have to make it myself, and even then, it was never as nice as good sketchbook or notebook paper.

[Calliope idly doodles in the margins.]

But I also think it's helpful to sort my thoughts out like this.

Why is paper so hard to come by where you're from? [Curious, but it's not as if she finds it hard to believe.]

Well- we had to make everything ourselves! Clothes, tools... sometimes we could barter with the fae for things, but paper was such a low priority compared to survival items.

[She neglects to mention the time she traded for three fancy suits, despite the roads being muddy.]

The fae? Why did they have the special things?
