Day 289 || Open Audio
[ The audio is a little fuzzy, Clay realizes, but that doesn't matter. He's not looking for quality, here, and he's not showing his face. The people who need to hear this message will know who he is soon enough. ]

So, Marina. It's a balmy sort of day. Cool, pleasant, nice. You know, besides being stuck a thousand leagues under the ocean. Makes everything distinctly less pleasant.

[ A long, long pause, before Clay laughs, manic and strung out. ]

What's your stance on revenge, Marina?

[ Clay's grin is wide. ] You better put out with that attitude.

Come by and find out. [Tyki chuckles, this means having a quick shave and looking a little less shabby for guests at his bar.]

[ Clay will look just as homeless as he always does, unwashed and generally angry. He makes his way to the bar without further comment. ]

[Maybe if he'd known Clay would look homeless he might not have been so quick to shift gears and look less shabby himself. But well, when you meet someone - it's only proper to leave a good impression. (Though the irony remains that he figures he will like Clay enough as is, more so if he proves to really be useful.) He's used such a small window of time to not only put on a well tailored waistcoat over his button down, but he's fished his smoking jacket as well. Slung it over an arm of a chair in the bar while he shaved, putting on the face he plays half the time - a refined gentleman. With nice, murderous urges simmering under the surface.

But oh! It's about time this dome had some trouble in it. He's played too many games, trying to get by. Months tick by and a man can only go so far. So when he sees Clay he scrutinizes him for a second, lighting a cigarette to take a slow drag.]
You my rabbithole friend?

[ Clay puts out his hand for a cigarette as well. He should've never taken one from Kitty, but it was a way in. He can't say he regrets it, but he wishes he'd found a different way. ] If you're the one with a hit on Reid's head, sure, I'm your friend.

Oh, I wouldn't call it a hit. [He says with a bit of a smile around his cigarette, nursing it for a moment longer before setting it down into an ash tray. He lets out a plume of smoke from the corner of his lips, eyes downcast on the bar top as he draws a pair of two glasses closer and pours them both some whiskey. He rarely wastes the good stuff on anyone besides himself, but today - today might be an occasion. He slides one forward to the space for the stool on the other side of the bar.]

That would imply I'm going to let someone else kill him. And frankly, I don't want him dead. Not yet, at any rate. I'm simply looking for likeminded individuals who might like to contribute to my efforts to make his existence here as miserable and painful as possible.

Sound like your cup of tea? [He looks up, brows raised as he knocks back his shot.]

More like a finger of whiskey, but I get what you're saying. [ Clay takes Tyki's cigarette from the tray and puts it between his own lips. He runs his finger along the glass as it comes ] I want his blood painting the walls and I want his head. [ Looks at Tyki. ] But I want his knees broken first.

[Tyki watches Clay curiously, his eyes alight. Where did you come from and where have you been, friend?]

I can only wonder what he's done to you, my friend. The same, I imagine, he's tried to do to me. For a man so smart he really is awfully stupid.

That's between me and him, pal. But I'll make you an offer. Tell me how he's wronged you, and I'll let you touch where he hit me. [ And that should tell Tyki enough of what Reid did to him. ]

[Tyki's not so sure he wants to feel your balls, Clay. Or whatever part of you that did get hurt, but he regards you all the same. In fact Tyki is curious, and takes a moment to weigh the pros and cons of this situation. What to divulge. It's not like he's got many other options for allies around here -- and well, Clay frankly seems unhinged a little. Tyki quite enjoys that about him. It's what, ironically, gains his trust.]

It's a bit of a story, beginning to end. So how about the most recent wronging? He failed to meet the requirements of a deal, so I broke his fingers. And then he had the guts to shoot me.

[ Clay leans on his elbow, taking a long drink of the whiskey after removing the cigarette from his lips. He finishes it in one go, clicking the glass down when he's done. ] Must of been one hell of a deal. [ Clay wants any dirty he can dig up on Reid, needs it so he can prove Rebecca wrong. ]

It was at one point a gentleman's agreement, and speaking of it would've been in bad taste. But considering he defaulted on it, perhaps it'd only be fair to air his misdeeds. But - hmm, all this before I even know your name? [Who's he kidding, he's taken people home and never asked it before.]

Tyki Mikk. [He offers his hand for a shake.]

[ Clay debates the merits of giving a fake name. He could, easily, he gave Kitty one. Clay takes a look at Tyki's hand before taking it. ] Clay.

[Tyki's not a man who cares about that sort of precaution, but would take anything Clay gave him - and he does, with a nod and a firm but brief shake. Formality for a budding alliance, worth the effort. He then refills their glasses with a lazy ease.]

Now, the good Doctor actually hit you? [His question of why hangs thickly in the air.]

Sure did. Knocked me out, too. [ Clay looks at Tyki with a lazy grin. ] All because he refused to accept that poking his nose into business that isn't his-- well, not always going to be beneficial to his health.

Oh, he's had trouble with that for a long while. He just doesn't learn.

It's gone bad for him nearly every time. [Tyki chuckles.] I would kill him for these transgressions, but sometimes life can be a fate worse than death. And I'd like that for him very, very much.
