Day 275 / Video / Locked to Defence Force
[Jack appears on the screen, a glimpse of his living room behind him. He looks pretty calm, and a lot more centred than he has done recently. Finally getting the best of Spike (because even if he died, Spike still has to heal) has done wonders for his confidence regarding getting the situation settled once and for all.]

I figure it's about time for a general update on the Spike situation. I've spoken to quite a few of you about this over the last week or two, but a general pooling of information would seem sensible.

Everyone should by now be aware that five nights ago Spike went on a bit of a spree. I don't know exactly how many people he attacked, but we have reports or punishment notices for Ton Phanan, Piper Halliwell, Nico di Angelo, Martha Jones and Clay Kaczmarek. There may have been considerably more.

I haven't heard of any fatalities so I'm assuming there weren't any, since he's been pretty careful so far not to kill anyone who wouldn't come back. But if you know of anyone who got killed, or anyone else who got hurt, please let us know – and please encourage people to tell the Defence Force if something like this happens. We can't help if we don't know!

Anyway, I think I've managed to put Spike out of action for a while, so hopefully we have time to do what we need to do to make sure he's not a threat to people's safety any longer. Which means putting his soul back into his dead, demon-possessed body to give him back his moral compass.

Ladies with the magical abilities, how are we doing with the spells? Let us know if there's any ingredients or anything you need, and we'll see if we can get them for you. [One of the spells he found mentioned something called an Orb of Thesulah, and he's not at all sure that's something that can be found within the dome. But there were other spells, and he's had the magic users looking them over for him for feasibility.]

The rest of you? We need rehabilitation points to get Spike's soul back. I spoke to the wardens yesterday and they confirmed that we can pool points for it, but it's going to need a lot of them. So anyone who has any spare points, please can you let me know? Conscienti said you'd need to give consent in person, but we can deal with that nearer the time. For now, all I need is a list of people who are willing to donate points, and once I have that I can go back and ask if that's enough points for what we need. So, names, please!

Aside from that: patrol. Spike seems to have slunk off to lick his wounds for the moment, but I don't know where he's holed up and I don't know how long we have. So patrol. Look out for him or any kind of trouble that he might be behind – as well as the normal stuff, of course. Spike's not necessarily the only threat we have here.

Hey, can I talk to you about Spike?

((OOC: Feel free to approach Jack in person rather than over the network if you prefer. He can be found pretty much anywhere in the dome: at HQ, patrolling (Sectors 0-2), in the library, getting coffee, near his apartment (Sector 4), or even going for his daily swim in the sea! :-)

Also, if you want your character to donate rehabilitation points but don't want the hassle of threading it out, feel free to leave an OOC response to that effect here too, to keep everything in one place!))

That one, yeah. I dropped by his apartment to check he hadn't made it back yet and she was there instead of him.

[He purses his lips.] I think we may have to worry about her getting in the way. I was hoping she'd be more reasonable, but it seems she cares enough about Spike that she's being deliberately blind to what he's doing.

((OOC: Oh yeah, I assumed she'd know about Spike and Rose so yeah, no problem!))

Tyki? Are he and Spike friends?

[So far, he's mostly managed to keep out of Tyki's way. He knows the guy can be dangerous (and that he used to date Kitty), but that's about as far as it goes.]

Rose is old and fast and strong and I think she cares more about Spike than I'd realised. She seems pretty anti-violence herself and I suspect she's been a bit of a calming influence on him up until now, but it sounds like, whatever he's done, she cares enough about him to try and stand up for him.

Seems like it. At the very least he knows we're going to intervene somehow [Not that hard to figure out, but she didn't tell him] and he doesn't approve.

I guess there's more disapproval to go around though. I'd rather not go up against all three of them, but if it comes to that then it comes to that. [She briefly considers working again to enlist a couple of powerful people she knows who don't seem like the joining types—Korra and Haruka, but she puts the thought aside for now. If things go badly for the force on their own they're just a communicator call away. She doesn't know how they'll handle the teamwork and at this point she's not sure they'd approve either. This is not a job for someone who wants to be popular. Good thing that's never been something she wanted or expected.]

	Hmm. Yeah, the three of them together could be... a little more than we were bargaining for. Still, they're not the only ones with superpowers. We have our own share of tricks on our side. And as long as the soul goes in, whatever else goes down doesn't matter. If we're all still standing sure. [Sometimes it's like she doesn't even bother reading brackets. Darn 4th wall in the way.]

It should be fine as long as no one goes telling them when it's happening. They haven't bothered attacking yet. [She has worried about a Tyki confrontation before. That seemed bad enough. All three? She believed they could do it, but will it go down without casualties?] And if they do we'll deal.

Hey... I should probably be getting home. [Maybe she can clean up her wounds before Reid sees the worst of it. Not the best angle for it though.] I just wanted to let you know I saw him.
