( day 272 ) shared dreaming!
dream option one: mystic falls cemetery.

[ there's a crow. it's the first thing you notice, how it's perched on top of stone and screaming before flapping away, leading your eyes into an old cemetery. the sign reads: "mystic falls cemetery, estd, 1792."

there's something different about this place, whether you've been here or not. a girl you might know with straight dark hair is leaning against one of the tombstones, her diary in her lap. she's writing. what's odd is this cemetery? it's in somebody's backyard. elena's backyard. her house is not three yards behind her. if you walk inside the cemetery grounds, you might catch some names on the headstones.

most of them are gilberts: "john, miranda, grayson." one says "jenna sommers" and another "alaric saltzman." maybe you recognize "stefan salvatore" and "caroline forbes," too. one of them, the one elena's sitting at? it has her name. ]

dream option two: hunting.

[ the bar and grill you're in is small and packed. she's a girl with a warm smile, drinking without a care in the world. she's even throwing her hands up in celebration at the game of pool she's winning. but something's not quite right about this place - there are too many shadows. you might notice the girl's smile isn't quite as warm as it seems. she pulls a man into those shadows. you watch as the veins around her eyes darken and her eyes redden. she doesn't hesitate to lunge for his neck and viciously pierce his skin with her teeth. ]

dream option three: home/potential smutty option.

[ there are flowers on her sheets. red. there's a window seat behind you and a breeze that comes in. a vanity to your left has a mirror. there are pictures stuck in the frame, of elena and her friends, her family. this is elena's room, at home. maybe this is where you start. maybe the shower is running in the next room and you're in there with her, her wet lips insistent against yours. you could be clothed and on the bed. player's choice~. ]

ooc: everyone is welcome to all options! if anyone wants to choose the smut option but fade-to-black, that's totally okay with me! we can discuss. :)

[That bite is going to be a lot less satisfying in a moment when he no longer seems tangible to her. In fact, nothing will have any physicality except the girl standing behind her with her hand grabbing onto a clump of Elena's hair.

There are a lot of things about this picture that should seem wrong to Kitty. The place for one. Where are they? Who are these people? But her mind seems to only focus on what's off about Elena. What the hell?]

It's not nice to eat if you didn't bring enough to share with the whole class.

[ blood drips off her lips onto elena's chin. for a moment, she's the picture of a predatory monster, teeth bared and eyes inhuman and hungry. her arm grabs kitty's with a speed and strength a human shouldn't have to break her hold. that is until she catches sight of kitty. her vision clears. (elena has had this dream before, and ones like it. hunting, feeding. sometimes as katherine. sometimes as herself. sometimes as both. sometimes with damon and stefan there, goading or shunning her in equal turns.

sometimes she wants to feed, to kill. sometimes she doesn't. sometimes she chooses someone who preys on the weak to prey on right back. sometimes it makes so difference.)

her eyes still filled with blood, her fangs still filling her mouth, she speaks with a note of horror. ] Kitty? [ her head snaps to the slumped man against the wall, back to the other woman. then she realizes what is happening, and she's a little annoyed. ] I was hungry. [ you interrupted. rude. ]

[Kitty is surprised by the speed and strength of Elena's grip, enough so that she doesn't have time to redirect her phasing to only include herself. At least not before Elena stops. She still takes that moment to pull back in hopes slumped guy isn't in any more immediate danger than he already suffered. She can't stay phased for extended periods, but to her credit she keeps her gaze level and her voice firm. The usually playful sarcasm comes out in a more commanding way. She wants answers.] Cheeseburger just wasn't going to cut it?

[ kitty doesn't know she's a vampire. that might be the thought she's having, but she also can't quite remember. doesn't she know? or maybe she didn't want kitty to know.

her slight hesitation is obvious, and she shakes her head some to clear it. ] I doubt a cheeseburger ever would now. [ she swallows, hard. kitty would judge her, right? she'd judge this. ] I didn't- [ she checks the man again, who is still unmoving but alive. ] I wasn't going to kill him. I wouldn't. [ do you hear the lack to surety. ]

	[She didn't know, but watching Elena feed made it pretty easy to put the pieces together. She's not that surprised. She'd learned about Damon already.] Did you miss the part where he's a person and not a happy meal? I'm going to check on him. [She says it with a warning tone. [ she can check, but - elena's brow raises as kitty passes her. ] I know how to do this, Kitty. I just have to feed him some blood [ she has her wrist up to signify just whose blood she means ] and erase his memory. [ naturally, normally, anywhere else but a dream, this logic wouldn't be enough for elena. it's a justification she's heard plenty, from damon, from other vampires. it's why this is a nightmare. it's why she's searching kitty's eyes for some sign that it's right to think this way. ]

[ you know it can't be that easy. she remembers, for a moment, caroline. telling her about what damon did to her, how it was wrong - but the words are fuzzy, and the thought slips away. she drops her wrist. ] Okay, fine, it's wrong. I know it's wr-wrong. [ she stutters on the word and looks around the bar. the dream flickers. she does know that. her attention turns back to kitty. ] I thought this was how I needed to be. Or how I - I don't want. I don't want to be. [ she's realizing.

then she's pulling in a sudden, horrified inhale, because suddenly they're not in the bar anymore. her meal is gone, and it's night, and they're on a small, deserted bridge. ]

	[The change is a little more jarring for Kitty than simply entering an unfamiliar bar, but it doesn't quite draw her into the reality of the situation. [ elena's horror has more to do with where they are than any realization of how they got here. there are tears in her eyes suddenly, because she's always crying, it seems. she shakes her head, trying to stop them from falling. looks over the edge to the still waters below. ] It's where I died. Where my parents died. [ why did she come here? (she knows the answer: it's where she belongs.)

she looks over to kitty. ] God, it's late. I should to get home to Jeremy.

[ that's not it. elena realizes kitty hasn't been here before, to mystic falls. there are threats and constantly, and particularly klaus. that's what matt said, that jeremy was a hunter now, that klaus wanted him to find the cure. ] It's dangerous here. You met Klaus. [ it's a question and an assumption. he was only at the prison for a short time. ] He's dangerous.
