This fluff thing is going from ridiculous to problematic and veering toward dangerous. They're in virtually every area of the prison now, even inside most buildings. Food supplies are starting to run low and the information we have indicates that they'll just keep reproducing at this rate left unchecked.

There's been a suggestion to eliminate them. Let's call that plan G. Now we just need plans A - F.

Knowing this place I expect the wardens to have it wrapped up by morning, but I don't want to leave it all in their caring hands. We need people on patrol making sure no one is actually buried under them and we need people collecting and protecting remaining food stocks not just for the team but so we can be prepared to distribute it to everyone if it comes to that. I think pushing them into sector 6 could be an option for us. [Of course they will likely get killed in there, but it is less direct.] But I want to hear more options. Get creative. Get chatty.

We need to do what we need to do, but don't forget these are designated as pets and harming them comes with a price tag since that's one of the rules around here.

One more thing. When we have the man power to dedicate to it I want the investigative team checking into souls and restoring them. [Yes, she really just said that.]

[He's trying to be helpful while still minding his own business and it's clear he feels a bit awkward about it all. But he also remembers how different Jack was after he came back from traveling with the Doctor and all the unanswered questions he still has about that time.] Sorry, I'm not trying to pry. I mentioned it to him when he arrived, but if he needs someone to talk too Jack has had some similar experiences. Or if you needed anything, I mean. [So awkward.]

[While he's torn between wanting to help by being a good listener and not wanting to intrude on something personal. So he just elaborates because talking is better than awkward silence.] He vanished once at home for a few months, but I know it was a lot longer for him. I've never really gotten the full story on everything that happened while he was gone but he came back a bit different. Some of the changes were good, don't misunderstand me, but it was hard, knowing he had experienced things that made him want to change our relationship but not understanding what those experiences were.

	We came out closer because of it. Before he disappeared what we had, I don't know, it wasn't a fling exactly but it wasn't much more than that. First thing he did after he got back was ask me out on a date, though. Well, no, he shot an alien for me first, then asked. I think loosing things put it in perspective for him. Oh. Sorry. [It's a small word—said often—but she she means it. She feels it. Things didn't last with Piotr or Tyki, but it wasn't because either of them fell in love with someone else. This is a fresh, new sort of pain and one she can't even be mad at Reid for. He didn't know about her while he was there. She wants him to be happy and loved even if it can't be with him and it breaks her heart to see him so heartbroken even outside of every other insecurity and concern it brings up in her.]

Yeah. He remembers over a year from back home now. There was someone. I don't know a lot about their relationship, but she died right before he was returned. He's...dealing. [She can't really ask him to deal with that and with their relationship. But where does that leave her?]

I'm sorry. I didn't realize. [Because really what do you say to that? He's been right there and at the time he hated hearing people tell him it was going to get better.]

I started sleeping with Jack while my girlfriend was dying. [So much more complicated than that but he doesn't want to bore her with explanations of Cybermen and how desperate he had been to keep her alive.] It took a long time after she died just to be able to get out of bed in the morning without hurting, and even longer to sort out how I felt about him. Give it time. I'm afraid that's rather cliche, isn't it?

Just when I start thinking I get the award for most complicated love life... [Not judging. It sounds very judge-worthy, but she's not. It hasn't even been a year yet since she left her home world where she was married.]

The most cliche. But I know it's true. He needs time. I keep telling myself about the time. The thing is I don't know much about putting things on hold and just waiting. Kind of have a life where you rush until you die. So how do you do it? How do you get time?

There does seem to be some stiff competition here, doesn't there?

Having to stop aliens destroying Cardiff practically everyday was a fairly good distraction. And eventually I stopped thinking about her being dead as much and started remembering that I was alive. It helped having Jack around through all of it even if I hated it most days. I can't speak for Reid but I imagine it must mean so much to him having you here.

And then he talks about Reid and what she means to him. She hopes so. Sometimes he clings to her so tightly and the can believe it. She can believe that everything will be okay. Good even. Great maybe. And sometimes she counts the days since his return and thinks about how they haven't even kissed yet and it just feels like she is someone who he used to be in love with.] I don't really know how to help him. I"m pretty sure he'd hate this if he knew I was talking about it with someone else. [But god, she's needed this. Just saying some of it out loud.]

[He gets it, the isolation and loneliness that goes alone with this sort of situation. He hadn't really had anyone to talk to because they'd all be there when Lisa lost control. Everyone he could have talked to about it had helped gun he down in the end. So if he can listen to someone who needs it now he will.] I won't mention it to anyone. Has he told you about what happened beyond losing someone? Or is he trying to deal with it all on his own?

I...know her name was Maeve and she was a geneticist. Not my favorite career path. [Most surviving geneticists in her world were hard at work torturing mutants and humans alike to bring out their "full potential."] She was killed by her stalker. He was shot in the arm.

I guess the day she died was also the first day he met her, but they'd been talking for almost a year.

...Longer than I've known him.

Pretty sure he blames himself.

No. Never is. [She has her own guilt over deaths. Her parents. Her students. Others she couldn't save over the years. She didn't even really know their names. She blames Apocalypse and Piotr but she's in there too with an extra large portion of blame.]

I don't want him to hurt, but I can't phase that away.

[Here's the thing she keeps thinking. The thing she can never say to Reid.] They could bring her here. [What difference does death make here?]

I think whoever is in charge of bringing people here is more considerate than we think. They could have brought me and Jack from anywhere, but they chose him from my future. From... From after I die. [Still working on saying that without sounding scared.] They could have brought us from the same timeline but they gave him the second chance he wanted instead. I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it. But I think in their own odd way they want us to be alright. They didn't need to bring Reid back, but maybe they saw how much you missed him.
