260 — Olympics mingle
[ It is a gorgeous day down here at the bottom of the sea and what better day to have an Olympics! The obstacle course is set up, the towels are fluffed, the medals have been polished to a high sheen and every orange within sight has been sliced.

Okay. Maybe not every orange. A lot of them. Enough to fuel a whole prison full of athletes, so athlete away! We can't waste all these oranges! ]

[ Dexter is a spectator. Sort of.

What Dexter's really done is make a token appearance, since the general populace here seems to place so much importance on social mingling and the like. It would look strange if he were to simply not show up at all.

But he's certainly not participating, and he doesn't seem to be paying much attention to anything. In fact, the inside of his head is - as is typical - the thing he's most engaged with.

They all seem so eager to dive in and play along with the amusements thrown their way, building these happy lives for themselves in this place. Playing right along with those who have imprisoned us, making the most of what they have. But there's only so much I can take of this, the smiles, the enthusiastic participation - the sportsmanship. Maybe if there were a medal on the line for speed dismemberment I'd be more willing to put on a show for them. If only they were more encouraging of alternate outlets of expression. Unconventional hobbies.

I really need to kill someone.

He might be just a tad more irritable than when he first arrived. ]

[M'gann was wandering through the games to see what all was there, but she hadn't decided that she wanted to join in yet.

Well, she did until she picked up on something random. It was something she heard briefly when she periodically used her telepathy. It kind of worried her, but she had missed who it had come from. So she was carefully trying to find the person without making it obvious.

In the process of walking around, she did happen to bump into Dexter]

I think this is one of the better things that the wardens have decided to do. It is exciting to watch.

[Less, but not none. The raptors are more fun in hindsight, now that they're stuck again with nothing to dismember. He hasn't quite forgotten that in practice they were unpleasantly memory, but give it time.

That comment does win a short laugh from him, though, and a sidelong look from beneath raised eyebrows.]

There's fencing, if you're really disappointed by that.
