Hey, everyone. I was thinking about how back home, some of the senior officers used to get together a few times a week for a poker game. It's great stress relief. Even though we don't have money here, we could figure something out. I'm open to suggestions, or we could just play for chips and bragging rights. [He doesn't know about everyone, but he's competitive enough to make bragging rights a decent motivator.] We could even call it a club, so everyone could get some of those rehabilitation points toward things we want to ask for.

Oh, and if you don't know how to play but want to learn, it's not hard. It's just a matter of practice. And who knows? You might be a natural.

Anyone interested? I was thinking we'd start in a day or two.

[He's hoping the Captain and Data (the default dealer back on the Enterprise) will be up for this, but hey. Anyone who wants to get together and have fun is fine with him. Also, it's too bad Commander Riker was only here that one day; he'd probably have gotten a game together long ago if he'd stayed.]

We do the same thing with sabacc in my squad. I've never heard of your game, but be prepared to be utterly humiliated at it because I'm sure I'll be brilliant and unstoppable.

[The humor and sarcasm is all there but he's got a thoughtful look on his face as he stares out of whats left of his face at the figure on his screen.]

Nice to know there's another cyborg here.

[Geordi takes the overconfidence in stride, he figures it's friendly prodding.] Once you learn the rules, the sky's the limit. I'd be glad to learn about sabacc too.

...Cyborg? [He reaches up to touch his VISOR and smiles.] I'm not, exactly. I was born blind, and this VISOR and some neural implants help me to see.

Oh no, I plan on blatantly breaking the rules and focusing mostly on sabotaging everyone else. Although in retrospect I probably shouldn't have given away my clever plan like that.

[Close enough in his book. People like him with medical implants are few and far between. Most cyborgs where he's from upgrade to enhance themselves and they're not really people he feels like socializing. Which all translates to him not often getting to talk to people like himself.] Sounds vaguely like my eye, at least the implants bit. Is this a common way to help repair blindness where you're from? I'm prying because I'm nosy and for some reason they trust me with a medical license.

It's not that easy to cheat in poker, unless you can see through the cards. Sometimes I can, depending on the deck, but I never look until after I've folded. It's no fun to win dirty, the bragging would feel meaningless.

As for my VISOR, it's not common at all. A lot of health problems have been pretty much eliminated by technology, so there aren't that many blind kids born anymore. Most times doctors are pretty fascinated by how it all works.

You underestimate my dedication to being as annoying as possible in any given situation.

Sounds similar to my galaxy. Bacta can patch up most injuries or issues but I'm allergic, so. [A shrug that's a bit too carefree.] Medical prosthetics aren't all that common.

[A dry chuckle] I've dealt with my share of annoyances.

Bacta? Are those some kind of microbotic organism?

And here I thought I was special.

Its a liquid that encourages cell regrowth, so it can patch up just about anything. Pretty handy.
