[ day 244 ] | Video + Action
[ there is truly no easy way to broadcast his impending status as a teacher and therefore, after much deliberation and a random cup of tea that appeared at his elbow just when he was starting to think this whole thing was a lost cause, he just flicked on his video and blurted out the news. ]

I'm your new teacher, Bak Chang, for the basic sciences class starting in two days. You better all attend!

[ click, because, oh gosh there was suddenly no time and he had material to prep and -- goodness just look at the time. Cursed with the White Rabbit, Bak is suddenly zooming out of the Bean Crushers and heading towards the library but... wait. Perhaps he should clear it with the wardens first? Oh dear, just what was Bak supposed to do!

Of course, Bak will be rushing here and there gathering up material for his class and getting his classroom all situated, but you can rest assured, he'll be constantly asking anyone whom he meets today what subject they're most interested in. Perhaps a class on the butterfly, or an indepth history on the many and varied uses of salt, or...! Suppose they learned about the mating habits of the beluga whale, instead? So much to teach, so very little time left indeed! Regardless, he'll be in all of a tizzy for the rest of the day. Especially since he can never seem to quite his obsession with tea. ]

Perhaps. But it is still and interesting subject and in class the theories can be replicated to give examples. Just because it isn't followed here doesn't mean it can't be studied.

[ he nodded thoughtfully ]

But the question still remains whether anyone will remember what they've studied once they leave this place. All the evidence points to the contrary.

[ which is honestly his only complaint. At least spend your time on something useful! Such as a means of securing their own escape. ]

Well, under that theory, teaching science is not that relevant as well. There's the potential they may not remember anything you say either.

[ he's giving lyle the line face look ]

Economics hardly has as much use considering the wardens provide us everything, regardless of the need for supply and demand. Science can useful for many things. Name it and science is probably involved.

[ Science is universal! ]

[And Lyle gives him a look back]

I'm not saying that science isn't useful, but you said yourself people might not remember if they leave here. It goes for all subjects.

[ he bristled ]

But at least it's useful now and once learned, they can always relearn it!

[ muscle memory is a thing, right? Right?! ]

Well, isn't that the same with anything?
