The name's Kitty Pryde for those who don't know me. I'm the current leader of the Defense Force. It's a group that works on ensuring the public safety whether that's from each other or our robot overlords. [Not to mention putting an end to this whole prison thing. She figures it's no secret from the wardens, but it still feels a little too brazen to be that specific in the public announcement.]

We're accepting new members in combat, investigations, and dispatch. There's an interview process if you're interested. I'll make up answers if you make up questions.

Seems like we've lost some people recently. We may have more joining our ranks soon. Until then, Data, I want you to lead Sector 5. Hopefully, we'll have more for you to lead soon. My team will back you up until then.

I want to talk to members of Sector 0 and 4's teams to see who to appoint as leader or temporary leader. [Spoiler alert: she is not picking you, Sougo.]

[ they have lost a few people lately. notably robin, as far as elena knows. maybe she's not the best candidate to be on the force right now, let alone one to lead a team, but she won't leave them high and dry either.

she tries not to think about how she could be something to report.

if she can't have total faith and confidence in her own capabilities, then there's still one person she does absolutely. ]

Zatanna's a good candidate. I could help her, if she needs it.

She's also the youngest member of your team and not actually under consideration. [Considering Robin was even younger it might sound a little odd. Aaron Hotchner has been missing for weeks now, but he made some impact while he was around. Besides, she had a different take on Robin than she does Zatanna. While she does trust the girl, she doesn't get the sense that she's the same natural-born leader with years of experience. She could be wrong. If everyone on that team thinks it's a good idea she may give it some real thought, but for now she leaves that statement where it lies.]

I was leaning toward you or Wally. Is this your way of saying you're not up to it?

[ it does sound odd, for exactly that reason. elena might have been skeptical of robin at first for the same reasons, but it became apparent to her quickly that robin was capable, even if that age she knew shouldn't have been. kitty was a part of the reason she realized robin's capabilities.

maybe she's biased as far as zatanna's concerned, but it's not without good reason. she believes in her. mostly though, she's wondering where this change in thinking is coming from. ] Robin was younger.
