Evening 241 } Action } Open Mingle
[ As mentioned by the wardens yesterday, Eric is hosting a costume party. The Blood Shack is lit by candles for the evening (he remembers the last party he had being interrupted by a power outage) and a small buffet of sorts has been erected. It furnishes mostly hors d'oeuvre and finer foods, things that Caroline picked out as Eric hasn't a clue about human food.

There is blood on tap (naturally) as well as a full bar. Eric has made certain to include water, sodas, tea and various non-alcoholic drinks.

The jukebox is playing a variety of music, but patrons are always invited to pick out their own music. The dance floor has a disco ball and there's the ever present 'dancing' pole on stage if someone gets brave. Tables are scattered about as are sofas and chairs so that people have a choice where they sit.

Enjoy yourself, mix, mingle and admire everyone's costume and everyone is required to have a costume in order to be here. ]

[ooc: I've turned off replies so if you want Eric's attention please tag his thread. Mingle here, have fun and be merry? Everyone is invited, including and especially newbies. ]

It is good to meet you as well, good sir Saetan. [He is so polite!] My name is Toul. The legend I speak of is of the Death Reapers of my world. They serve the Daiad, our gods. They are powerful and terrifying for they bring change to the world as well as destruction.

[Manners are indeed a sticking point with him, and the fact that she seems equally polite endears her a great deal to him almost at once.] What a lovely name. I'm afraid I've never heard of Death Reapers, at least not in my world. Our demon-dead make their way to Hell on their own, and I don't meet them until they arrive.

Why, thank you. [Her cheeks flush just a bit at the compliment, but she moves on with enthusiasm. She's not used to getting praise like that--or rather doesn't really notice it.]

We have two different realms that the dead travel to, although we would meet all of the gods and their brethren once our souls move on to Daeon. Is your Hell like that?

We don't have gods or anything like that; it was a new concept for me before coming here. There's just me. What are the differences in your two realms? I might be better able to compare if I know.

It is said that Ksaethel will Judge all souls once our spirits have departed the Living Realm and if he finds us Enlightened and worthy we will travel to Daeon where we shall spend the rest of eternity in the paradise of our Gods. But if you are not ready, or your soul is tainted with crimes against it and others, then you will be sent to Exaelius, Purgatory. There the Goddess Saesté heals us or makes us pay penance for the wrongs we've committed.

[She wonders how else to describe it, since really, she's never been herself so what could she truly know of it?] There are many inner realms of Exaelius, but we cannot truly know all of them. Does any of this sound similar to you?

No, I'm afraid it does not, although it all sounds very lovely to be able to look forward to after death. Where I come from once you die you become demon-dead and arrive in Hell, and that is simply the end of it. Its a twilight realm, and while it's not a horrible place to be its not a paradise, either. Its simply a place. I do what I can to make it enjoyable, or at least not terrible.

Demon dead sounds somewhat dreadful, but you don't seem to look like a demon at all. How does that work? Is being demon-dead different from experiencing the afterlife?

[Sorry, she has a habit of being rather free with her opinion when she's in an interesting conversation.]

It can be; you inhabit the body you died in. I know plenty of people who died of old age or disease or some other natural cause that's not particularly visible or discomforting, but I also know demon-dead who burnt to death or were hacked apart in battle. It can make death a difficult transition. Some handle it well and remain in Hell as long as they please, others choose to fade away quickly. Do demons have a different form in your world?

[There's no need for her to worry; he finds these sorts of discussions endlessly fascinating.]
