Day 233 | Sector 2 | late afternoon

[When she's not on assignment in Sector 1, Korra can be found wandering forlornly around Sector 2, where she and Mako had been (briefly) reunited. She'd been doing so well, not missing home, but seeing Mako, getting to talk to him and kiss him and hold him again, has opened up the floodgates. It's been weeks since she's seen Bolin or Tenzin or the air bender babies; months since she's been able to spend any significant time with her parents or Master Katara. She's never been separated from Naga this long since they were both babies.

She wants her boyfriend. She wants her best friends, and her teachers, and her parents, and her world, and her life! She's sick of being trapped here, having all of her powers and yet still being less than nothing.

Hey, Korra. [He starts to smile and wave but his wave gets kind of stuck somewhere in between waving and just hanging in the air like maybe he wants to answer a question for the teacher. Not that there is a teacher present of course.

Maybe it's just that the boy actually can read body language better than you might expect. Maybe it's just that he gets the missing. He's had 123 days of experience with the missing. Well, more technically if you count the way his life at home was split between two worlds, and getting from one to the other wasn't always possible.

[They don't see each other regularly, but often enough. When she does catch sight of the other girl, the entire scene just... looks a little lonely, though.

She can't tell if it's the way she's walking or just the vibe she is giving off. Regardless, Yuuki falls somewhere in step with her as she walks, a small bag of groceries in one of her hands.]

Really though, this is how a lot of his relationships start out, insults, badgering and the occasional moment of getting along... until those occasional moments become more often and you can't help but realize the sweet side of him exists.

[ Hei was out doing what Heis usually do: picking up the evening's groceries and not taking his sweet time returning home. Because, despite the wall he's hit since Saya left, since Pai returned back to the Gate she's guarded for years, Hei still needed to go through the action of living. Walks in the morning and evening, subtle stretching exercises in the privacy of the apartment, midnight crawls over the rooftops in the dome and more were the norm. He was a man, not a machine, even if he'd much prefer to return to the days he almost thought he was one.

Life was simpler then.

Therefore, Hei gave pause to the moment as he walked back to his apartment, bag held limp in his hand, and after a moment had passed, he nodded. ]
