Day 231 : 4th Wall : Open Video/Open Action MINGLE

Hello, everyone! I wasn't expecting so many new people so soon! I'm not sure we'll have welcome baskets ready for everyone. [Partially because Euphie has been here long enough to suspect that if this is like any of the other times the wardens will "fix the glitch."] But I do hope you all have a safe and happy time today.

Everything here is free, so if you need clothes or food just go to any store or restaurant and you should be able to find what you need. Tonight when you want to sleep there are three different apartments with plenty of open rooms. You're welcome to take any open one for yourselves. Oh! And be very careful to stay out of Sector 6. It's dangerous. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ah, and Cornelia, if you're out there it would be very nice to see you.

[She could stop him. She probably should stop him. There are a lot of reasons for stopping and only one for continuing. Except the one for continuing is pretty persuasive, "she doesn't want to stop yet."

She has a lot of warm, affectionate feelings for this man. It's true that a lot of that is transferred from the man she knew before who lived with her in the dome and not directly from this visitor who has always made her laugh and blush.

She's also a young lady who has flirted with kissing, always to have the mistletoe bot fly away or the man in her life disappear from the dome. Nothing lasts here. It barely lingers. So when she feels the warm press of lips—gentle but sure—against her mouth, she doesn't have the heart to break it so quickly. Instead, she pushes back in just a little—curious and affectionate as her heart beats faster.]

[ Euphie's response was encouraging. Here stood a man who didn't even know he would be here past the night — or ever be back at all. That's not the sort of "one night stand" he's used to, either. But he comes from a place where if you didn't get close to someone, if you didn't give in to these sorts of urges often enough, or didn't have a back-up plan... you died. Plain and simple. Even if the black ink under his shirt wasn't anywhere near the point where it would cover him in the feeling of hot pins under his skin and the madness was distant, that didn't mean it wasn't a factor. A reminder of that lifestyle.

His kiss was earnest, and his comments had been honest. She was friendly, and warm, and he saw absolutely no reason why they couldn't be together. It's not like taking someone to bed was the same as a handshake, but Lockon was a lot more casual with his relations these days than was ever normal for him.

And, in another way, it was a way to take his mind off of all of that. Too many times he had been with someone who had their own problems with that wretched curse or another curse, and he's sick of that being a strong motivator. So he latched onto the idea that Euphie wasn't at all experiencing any of that, and that she had wanted it to some extent.

When this stops, it stops and that's done, but for now he'll enjoy this. He rests his other hand on her hip to see if she minded getting closer to him. ]

[She moves closer with the light encouragement of his hand. It's something like a dance. He leads and she follows as gracefully as possible. She's always been a solid dancer.

Euphie certainly has reasons to avoid taking things too far. There were the warden's punishments of course, but they seemed to pale in comparison to the thought that whether she falls asleep alone or with company tonight it's almost certain when she wakes tomorrow it will be by herself. In some ways that is even more of a reason to embrace the moment. There isn't time to take things slowly. She learned that at home with Suzaku—not that things between them had moved terribly slowly of course. But then it repeated again with Gino and Ryoji. One by one the people she grows close to disappear. Is it more heartbreaking to share something so intimate only to lose them or to never share it at all?

She presses closer still, pouring more into the kiss. It's not a promise. It's not a yes. Her thoughts and feelings are messy and confused. She's not likely to find clarity in this kiss, but for the moment that's okay.]
