Hello, everyone! I wasn't expecting so many new people so soon! I'm not sure we'll have welcome baskets ready for everyone. [Partially because Euphie has been here long enough to suspect that if this is like any of the other times the wardens will "fix the glitch."] But I do hope you all have a safe and happy time today.

Everything here is free, so if you need clothes or food just go to any store or restaurant and you should be able to find what you need. Tonight when you want to sleep there are three different apartments with plenty of open rooms. You're welcome to take any open one for yourselves. Oh! And be very careful to stay out of Sector 6. It's dangerous. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ah, and Cornelia, if you're out there it would be very nice to see you.

[well, this teenager happens to be hanging around the entrance to sector six and doing a fine job of looking like he's about to walk right in.

scott's had a bit of a tough start to this day. meeting a version of mystique (the not-so-friendly version) had put down his spirits a bit, but he's totally ready to remedy that with some good ol' danger!!

[Seeing the shades he looks familiar too. He isn't someone she's spent much time around, but she knows the various higher ups in Apocalypse's chain of command. The Summers brothers aren't exactly horsemen, but they are prelates working directly under Sinister. It's this recognition and knowledge that has her popping those claws housed in the gauntlets at her wrists.

SNIKT! Familiar sound?

Still, everything else is wrong. His age, his almost apologetic tone, and his demeanor.

She's not looking at a mutant from her world, but she doesn't retract the claws just yet even if she makes no other offensive move. In fact she doesn't even step closer.]

[his hidden eyes widen at the sight of the claws. he had definitely been acquainted with similar ones before and wasn't looking for a repeat performance.

when she uses his field name, in that tone, his stomach drops and he wonders if this is it--if this is him finally meeting someone whose life his older self had ruined and was about to take it out on him.

well, not like he was going to stand there and take it. his future version may have gone crazy and hurt a great deal of people, but that hadn't happened for him. to him. yet.

he stumbles back, a hand already raised, and fingers tightly holding on to the edge of his shades.]

Don't get any closer.

[he keeps his tone even, but his stance is clearly ready for anything.]

You can't hurt me. [But he can hurt others. He could probably destroy a lot of this prison if he really wanted to or at least get a start on it before the robots stopped him. She can phase herself out of his beam, but what about everything behind her when she does it?

There's nothing about him that is screaming, "I want to fight." She needs to keep herself in check to keep him in check.]

Keep the glasses on, and I'll put the claws away.

[he regards her carefully with his lips pressed into a thin line. he doesn't know her, doesn't know how trustworthy she is. still, they couldn't stand at a stalemate forever and he could count on his reflexes. so he considers it for a moment, then nods stiffly and slowly brings his hand down.

of course, he continues to keep his distance and cautiously watches her, while also sneaking glances off to the sides for an escape route.
