✧Day 229✧[VIDEO]✧
[Zatanna appears...upside-down. Somewhat. She's laying on her bed in her room, hair hanging down over the edge, eyes glancing far upward so they can meet with the communicator screen. Her skin is a bit darker than usual, with noticeable patches of pink on her nose, cheeks, and shoulders.]

[A softly snoring puppy rests at her feet. Otherwise, the only sound in the room is the air conditioner blasting from her window.]

I think they lied about the temperature. No way this is only ninety degrees. Either the Wardens are trying to bake us, or...actually, no, that's all I've got.

Wake me when the weather's no longer trying to kill us.

Unless you have ice cream. Then we'll talk.

You...you don't think they'd actually try to bake us, do you? That's inhuman! And also unsavory.

[Even though he can't see it, she shrugs on her end]

And so not vegetarian-friendly.

I also wouldn't put it past them. You do realize we're basically one candid camera from being some twisted reality show social experiment, right?

[!!!]

Oh, but... that would be quite the interesting premise, wouldn't you think?

A group of well-meaning citizens forced to cooperate together under the cruel pressures of their hosts who demand that they-- perhaps kill?

I'd most certainly watch it!

I'd watch it.

Doesn't mean I'm in any hurry to actually star in something like that.

Fortunately, the wardens are champions of justice! That other prison we went to was rather shitty, but I firmly believe in our safety!

Tasty prisoner-kebobs are most certainly not a thing on their mind!

[...]

That is probably the first--and hopefully last--time I have ever even remotely heard to either of them referred to as such.

We are talking about the same Wardens, right? V and Connie? [As she's taken to calling them by now.]

Verily, madam! The rather persnickety powers that be around these parts.

I tend to prefer the term Robot Overlords.

You know, the kind that tend to think they have more authority then they actually do.

Oh? Are you perhaps thinking of staging a revolution or somesuch?

[He sounds kind of excited. He's only ever heard about that sort of thing in movies!!]

Nah. Too much effort.

[Actually, she was doing a lot of undercover research regarding magic theories as to how they could possibly bring people here and negate a wide range of abilities to such varying degrees...but that was something not to be willingly broadcast over a public feed.]

Let me know if you ever do catch wind of one, though. I'll bring the popcorn.

If I did, would I be telling you where the Wardens could easily hear and preemptively punish me for it?

Though... I suppose it's a bit difficult starting any such thing underwater like this.

No worse than any other prison, I'd imagine.

I mean, all we're really missing is a decent escape plan. Though, honestly, I'd settled for just taking the Wardens off-line for a day or two. The peace and quiet would be so worth it.

They're quite fearsome, that's for certain! A.I.s who find their home underwater... they take their jobs seriously, and their passion is admirable!

Oh, I believe they deserve a tad more credit than that! I knew a program by the name of Auto-Responder and despite his programming he was as infuriating as any person!!

I'll give you the infuriating part.

But I still think that's just how they were programmed. Evilly.

I have faith. Knew a pretty cool robot back home. Bit stiff, but he's a genuinely good guy.

It would be an insult comparing these two to him, though.

Is it because he doesn't quite imprison people?

Well, he throws people in prison, but only actual criminals. Like, the take-over-the-world kind.
