Evening 244 | Action |
[Peter is crouched on the very edge of the building on his heels, chin in his hand. He's got his Spider-man suit on underneath his clothes and the mask shoved in his backpack, which is slung over one shoulder.
The last couple of days have given Peter a lot to think about. He's spent most of his time here wanting to go home, but when they were in the Squall prison, he just wanted to get back here. Home is supposed to be the people you care about and it is. He misses his Aunt Mae so much. He misses the smell of coffee brewing in the morning and breakfast cooking downstairs. He misses listening to the back and forth of his aunt and uncle over the dinner table. He misses school, Gwen and the skyscrapers in New York. He misses that sort of anonymity that New York City affords people, but he's come to realize that there are things about this place that he would miss if he were taken as well. The creature comforts are only a part of it, but he would be lying if he said that they weren't. The people are the larger part of it. He's made friends here, come to care and he would miss those people if he went home tomorrow. He's not sure how to deal with that.
His powers are back, and that's given him something else to ponder. Peter isn't sure who he is without his powers anymore. At one time, watching Gwen walk away, he thinks he would have given anything to be the old Peter Parker, but now, having been stripped of his powers twice, he's not so sure he really would. There was nothing wrong with the old Peter Parker. He didn't hate who he was, but he enjoys his powers. It doesn't hurt that he can do some real good with his powers. As the old Peter Parker, he was limited in what he could do by his body. Having powers, in his mind, gives Peter a chance to redeem himself for the mistakes he's made, for Uncle Ben's death, for Captain Stacy's death, for what he helped Dr. Connors do. With his powers muted, he'd felt blind, deaf and numb. He closes his eyes, listening to the sounds of the dome. He can feel the air on his skin, and smell the food from the vendors.
Feel free to notice the boy perched on the edge of the building. He's not opposed to talking to someone, in fact, if he sees people walking by he might jump down to talk to them. He just needed some time to think and he really likes heights. If he had his shooters and webbing, he'd be hanging upside down somewhere.]
