Okay I dunno if my filters are messed up because of the Octa-brothers outside so I'm gonna say this here and really hope I'm going to be having an awkward 'your feathers are all ruffled over nothing' giggle of relief in like three seconds.

Derek Morgan, you better answer me, Mister. I know the lone hero thing is sexy as all get-out but we're being Captain Nemo'd here and I'm freaking out and I really need someone to cling to. And I know you're here because you wouldn't leave me alone. Right?

That's sweet darling, but I think anyone going out in this mess is probably spelling trouble. If Derek were still around there's no way he'd ignore my call.

[He was quiet for a moment. She was sad, but she was most likely right. He was gone. He didn't know what he should do. If he tried to comfort her by saying he might still be out there he'd only make her worry and then be sadder when he wasn't there. But she was sad right now and he knew how that hurt.

He fidgets with his hands and chews the inside of his cheek.]

Oh honey, I know you probably would, but all I'd do it sit here in a tizzy wondering if maybe what-if you possibly perchance weren't all right. Trust me, the best thing you can do to make me feel better is stay put and have some tea or hot cocoa or whatever you want in a mug with me.

[She offers a diluted smile and makes her way to the teapot, and tries not to let her shoulders sag too much. This isn't okay, but she has to keep it together or the little family-type thing they put together isn't gonna be okay either.]

[He just nods and watches her for a moment. If she really wanted him to stay then he would. But she was still upset, and he wanted to try and do something to help make it better besides just being some deadweight she had to worry about all the time.

So he walked up next to her and just let himself lean against her side, resting his head against her arm. If she wanted him here then he would be right here.]

	[He knew better than that. People didn't just come back after they left. He had seen too many people go to believe that anyone would 'come back' after you lost them. Well, right now what you can do is keep me company, because with you around I'm a lot less likely to flips out over the Tentacle Brothers doing a drum solo on the ceiling.

And after that... how about we make popcorn and treats and watch funny movies? Or maybe you have an idea if something that's fun and will distract us from bad news? [Penelope Garcia, ever the optimist. She has to believe there's a way to make things better, even with half her heart being taken away from her.]

[He lets himself settle under her arm comfortably as he looks out at the dome, completely unfazed by the giant tentacle monster trying to kill them all. People talking to him was apparently the most terrifying thing ever, but tentacle monsters? Meh.]

We'll be alright. [He won't exactly elaborate on why, and he probably shouldn't be so confident without his ring. But it still didn't feel that that big of a deal.]

I-I um... that sounds good I think. I-I'm not sure. Usually when something bad happened back home my friends and I just... sorta kept doing what we usually did every day.

	Yeah, we did that too. You know, people need saving, bad guys need catching. Like when our friend Emily died... well, we thought she died. We had to just keep going on.
