Day 220 l Video l Open
[Ianto is eying the dome curiously and also a bit nervously. He's managed to turn his video on just quickly enough for a tentacle to be seen briefly silhouetted behind him before disappearing into the murk.]

When they say pay no attention to the tentacles, do they in fact mean pay lots of attention to them because they're rather large and suspicious looking? Surely I'm not the only one noticing these things.

[He laughs anyway, because really what else can you do when about to be killed by a giant sea monster?]

I suspect its of the act first listen later variety, unfortunately.

[ Prepare a wet suit? ]

And of course there's the issue of getting them to understand speech as well. [ she sighed ] I don't suppose you know of any safe shelter, do you? I'm keenly not interested in discovering what happens if the dome cracks today. And of course there is the issue of Oxygen.

[ perhaps this is something she should bother the wardens over. One should always have a contingency plan in place first. ]

Not really. Some areas might be more structurally sound, but I don't think any of that will matter when we're being flooded. The pressure must be quite intense down here, too.

[ she sighed ]

Then there is nothing to do but wait it out I suppose. [ she pursed her lips ] This is certainly not the way I imagined myself to die. [ indeed not, she had long since assumed she would die due to stray bullet fire or some other act of war; not peacefully deep beneath the ocean. ]

I did, but to but to be fair my list of ways I'm likely to die is very long and being constantly updated. Drowning does rank below asphyxiation in the depths of space or an alien mind probe gone wrong though, at least in my book so it's not all bad.

[ she blinked in surprise ] You certainly do have some imagination. Compared to that, I suppose drowning is the slightly kinder way to go. You'll pardon me if I don't take comfort in that, however.

Hazards of the job. And no, I suppose its not really comforting at all, is it?
