Day 219 [video-->Action] Merlotte's Mingle - Open to All!
[What better way to kick off a mingle than to broadcast the invitation to the entire dome?]

Hey ya'll. I know it's kinda outta place t'say Welcome to Marina cause no one really wants t'be here, but it ain't all bad. In any case, I've got a bar an grill here in Sector 4 called Merlotte's, figure th' new arrivals may want to come on down and have a drink or two after a trip like that.

Anyone's welcome of course, we're open from mornin' to night. Come on in an' have a bite to eat or somethin' to ease your troubles.

((ooc: This is an open mingle. Feel free to thread everywhere with anyone. As always, before threadjacking make sure it's okay by the player but otherwise have fun! Sam is available to chat with either by Video or in person and his thread is right Here. There is a full menu of down-home diner/grill sort of foods, so hamburgers, french fries, salads, soups, breakfast items or whatever other comfort food you can think of and a few other things from other worlds. There is a full bar, wine, liquor, beer and even blood or synthetic blood. He also has a pool table and there's plenty of room in booths or tables to play cards or whatever else.))

[Peter is there looking a bit nervous. He's wearing the usual jeans and tee shirt, but they look new, because they are. It's just dinner. He and Dawn have had dinner lots of times, but it was usually an impromptu thing rather than a planned sort of deal. Besides, this is their first dinner after she kissed him that day.

He can be found standing by the entrance waiting for Dawn or later mingling around the room with others. He'll play pool a little and probably fiddle with the jukebox a bit.]

[Dawn is kind of nervous too. But there was no way she could say no after Peter had asked her to meet him here. This is the first time seeing him since they had kissed. Yes, she had started it. But he had kissed her back, right? Right. She was telling herself that anyway. And then again, maybe she had done it wrong, kissing him first.

She's wearing a cute top and jeans and some pretty ballet flats. And when she spots Peter, her heart does some kind of flutter in her chest. Should she kiss him hello? Should she not? For the moment, she's undecided.] Hey. It's you and me in the same place. It's a good thing.

Peter breaks into a grin upon seeing Dawn. The nerves aren't gone by any means, but they've been replaced with excitement at seeing her. She looks good, but then Dawn always looks good, so he's not surprised.

"Wow. Hey...yeah. Uhm...you look really--really nice." He winces at his word choice. "I mean good. You look really good. Great. Not that you don't always--hey."

Sometimes sticking with the classic greeting is the best thing.

His compliment just makes her smile grow to the point that her nose wrinkles a bit. And after that, she's just trying to get herself under control so that she seems a lot cooler than she actually is. Needless to say, it doesn't garner the desired effect. Instead she just ends up doing a half snicker thing that might have had a snort in there somewhere, then she's blushing and the whole thing just went downhill really, really fast.

"You look nice, good and great too. All at the same time. In fact, brownie points for multi-tasking in the looks department." Her head tilts a bit. "Or... boy scout points? Not brownie points. And wow, brownies sound really good. But so do cheesy fries. Wanna get some cheesy fries?"

He ducks his head, turning a bit pink around the ears at the compliment. The smile, snort and snicker are actually pretty adorable, even if she wouldn't believe that. He's just sort of grinning like an idiot right now.

"Thanks. Uhm...yeah. Thanks. I uh...used to be a boy scout? A long time ago. What about you? Any brownie experience? And cheese fries sounds great."

He rests his hand lightly at the small of her back and points over to a booth that's sort of in the corner. "That look okay?"
