Day 219 [video-->Action] Merlotte's Mingle - Open to All!
[What better way to kick off a mingle than to broadcast the invitation to the entire dome?]

Hey ya'll. I know it's kinda outta place t'say Welcome to Marina cause no one really wants t'be here, but it ain't all bad. In any case, I've got a bar an grill here in Sector 4 called Merlotte's, figure th' new arrivals may want to come on down and have a drink or two after a trip like that.

Anyone's welcome of course, we're open from mornin' to night. Come on in an' have a bite to eat or somethin' to ease your troubles.

((ooc: This is an open mingle. Feel free to thread everywhere with anyone. As always, before threadjacking make sure it's okay by the player but otherwise have fun! Sam is available to chat with either by Video or in person and his thread is right Here. There is a full menu of down-home diner/grill sort of foods, so hamburgers, french fries, salads, soups, breakfast items or whatever other comfort food you can think of and a few other things from other worlds. There is a full bar, wine, liquor, beer and even blood or synthetic blood. He also has a pool table and there's plenty of room in booths or tables to play cards or whatever else.))

	No. It actually reminds me of my foster father's cooking. He liked to just take a bunch of random things and throw them together. Most of it was barely palatable. [He takes a bite of the potato, surprised that the combination works.] This works. His rarely did. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[He laughs softly.] Guess I kin understand where th'hesitation comes from then. Not all food experiments turn out as well.

Some end up big hits though. An' it's interestin' learnin' new ways of cookin' things. Ya find all kinds of combinations you'd never think of when there're people from all over the place.

[He looks at the hand offered him for a moment before reaching forward to shake it.]

Zero Kiryuu.

[There's another pause, it's obvious he wants to say something else but is hesitating. After a lengthy pause, he finally pushes forward.]

For the Blood Shack being so close by, you get an unusual number of vampires coming in and out of here. Something I don't attribute to whatever relationship you have with Buffy Summers.

Is there a reason for this? Is that the sort of world you come from?

[He's honestly been curious about this.]

[Course as the other goes on he's beginning to wonder if that's the case. So he knows he's in a relationship with Buffy? How does he know Buffy? It's just... very sudden, and pardon his paranoia, but a little suspicious sounding.]

Ah, I'm not sure? I mean I do offer blood for'em. Maybe they jus' prefer the atmosphere here than at the blood shack. [This is a little more... normal. The blood shack is very obviously geared towards Vamps. Maybe they like the ability to mingle with people more?]

An' yeah, where I come from Vamps are outta th' coffin and livin' amongst humans.

[He hesitated primarily because he knew it would be strange to have someone you just met come up to you to discuss something of this nature. Especially someone who you probably haven't seen around much...seem to be aware of this much.

Because of that he's looking for signs of discomfort from Sam about the subject. Even the slightest tenseness in his body language can't be missed. So he instantly starts ticking off the issues that might make Sam feel less threatened.]

I'm pretty much the 'Buffy' of my world. A Vampire Hunter. I first arrived in Marina on Day 11 and recently left for a few weeks before returning.

I tend to keep a close eye on the vampire population in the facility, so something like this just kind of caught my eye.

You have people from your world here, don't you?

[But he mixes with a number of the vampire worlds so Zero hasn't quite figured out exactly what one yet.]

My companion...the tiny girl eating more than her weight in food is one of the most powerful and potentionally dangerous vampires from my world.

They aren't 'out' in my world.

Not unless Marina drastically changes everyone's personalities--which has happened a few times in the past. She's...kind. Bossy, opinionated and incredibly stubborn--but no. Not a threat at all.

[But back to the subject at hand.]
Do you mind me asking who? It just helps me determine what 'world' everyone comes from. The differences from world to world are something I've always found--interesting.

If you're worried about outing anyone--if they are a vampire, I already know. It isn't exactly the kind of thing that can be hidden from me easily. [False positive--yes. But never can he miss one.]

	I wouldn't know. I don't actually step into that place. A place specifically catering to vampires isn't exactly a place that a vampire hunter would feel too welcome. [But about the daiquiri.] Sure. Strawberries are sometimes more popular than chocolate with her. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
