Day 219 [video-->Action] Merlotte's Mingle - Open to All!
[What better way to kick off a mingle than to broadcast the invitation to the entire dome?]

Hey ya'll. I know it's kinda outta place t'say Welcome to Marina cause no one really wants t'be here, but it ain't all bad. In any case, I've got a bar an grill here in Sector 4 called Merlotte's, figure th' new arrivals may want to come on down and have a drink or two after a trip like that.

Anyone's welcome of course, we're open from mornin' to night. Come on in an' have a bite to eat or somethin' to ease your troubles.

((ooc: This is an open mingle. Feel free to thread everywhere with anyone. As always, before threadjacking make sure it's okay by the player but otherwise have fun! Sam is available to chat with either by Video or in person and his thread is right Here. There is a full menu of down-home diner/grill sort of foods, so hamburgers, french fries, salads, soups, breakfast items or whatever other comfort food you can think of and a few other things from other worlds. There is a full bar, wine, liquor, beer and even blood or synthetic blood. He also has a pool table and there's plenty of room in booths or tables to play cards or whatever else.))

Oh, uhm, yeah, don't worry about it. I really wasn't myself either.

[Looking up at her very seriously a good bit of guilt in his eyes.]

[Water didn't have any ill effects upon her but alcohol was a good way to curb her cravings. Plus it tasted nice.]

Apology accepted but I know you wouldn't have. Something else was going on that day and a lot of people weren't acting like themselves.

[The truth was, Rose did have those urges almost everyday but she was strong enough to keep them in check.]

I hated not having control of my actions.

[Well in some way it's not entirely true. Had she not been with Spike and He not ended up in love with Buffy there wouldn't have been anyone stopping them. But he didn't want to jeopardize things with Buffy or Rose and Spike. He liked them, they were good for each other and the last thing he'd want is to come between them in anyway.]

Yeah. It was... kind of liberatin' in some way but... frightenin' in others. I'm just glad we didn't do anythin' we woulda regretted.

[A pause.] Does... Spike know?

	He knows now. I told him not long after it happened. [She'd rather just be upfront with Spike.] Spike took it better than I thought he would so things are fine between us in case you were wondering. Oh. Uh, good. I'm glad you two are okay. I'd hate t'be a reason you two weren't. [But he's kind of wondering how okay he and Spike are...

Well... no. But we haven't brought that day up at all, it's probably for the best, ya know?

[Considering how jealous either of them could be and how fragile things are cause Buffy is... well Buffy and relationships are a tricky and sensitive thing and he doesn't want to accidentally ruin his awesome streak. It's not like they actually did anything and they both had to have kissed other people that day. They're fine not knowing.

I told Spike because I wanted to be honest with him. Apart from that, he already knew that something was up and I couldn't lie.

[Not that she was looking to tell Sam how he should conduct his relationship with Buffy.]

Don't worry, I won't tell Buffy what happened between us. It's not my place, it's between you and her.

[Rose couldn't promise if Spike would say something to Buffy or not but she definitely doesn't want to mess up things between her and Sam.]

[If he were to be completely honest he didn't want to tell Buffy because then there would be an obligation for Buffy to tell HIM who she kissed and he doesn't trust himself.]

I ain't gonna lie to her, if she asks, I'll tell her everythin, but... until then it ain't comin' up.

[As far as Spike goes... well... that is a risk he'll take.]

	Probably the best idea when you think about it. None of us want to jeopardise what you two have. Especially when you're happy. [Whatever had happened between them, Sam was still her friend and she respected him.] I can talk to Spike if you want me to, make sure that he doesn't say anything to Buffy either. Likewise. An' if ya could I'd appreciate it. I cain't say he'd listen to me or not. Though somethin' tells me he wouldn't want nothin' t'happen between Buffy and I either.

[He clears his throat.]

You uh... you really seem t'be a good thing in his life right now Rose. I'm glad he met you.

[An honest smile. Maybe more of a hint to just how much of a friend he was to Spike even if they wouldn't say it out loud.]

[She thinks about what Spike said about Buffy and his experiences with her. Tracking down slayers was an obsession with him and she seemed to be his latest fixation; Rose pushes the thoughts out of her mind.]

We've been good for each other. He's shown me to live a little and I've probably been a good influence on him, keeping him out of trouble.

[He didn't even need to say it out loud because Rose knew already. She didn't want them to be at odds with each other.]

Or as much as I can at least.
