	Could you bring the blood to me? I've already had a few jump to the vampire conclusion, and I've deliberately led them astray. Thank you. [ his gratitude is genuine, sincere. he's starving and doesn't trust himself to step foot out of this room until he's eaten and can better wrangle all those nasty impulses and urges that come with being part vampire. it wasn't as easy of an existence as he made it out to be, and sometimes even he questioned his own previous quest for vampiric superiority. not often, but sometimes. and even having a fraction of doubt for himself and his ambitions was something worth noting. ]

I've claimed a room at that apartment complex in Sector 2. Top floor, last room on the right.

[ rose knew how hard it was when you didn't drink blood, the cravings could drive you mad. in addition to that, if her kind didn't drink blood for a lengthy period of time, they would dessicate and go into a mummy-like state. very unpleasant and a painful way to exist. she didn't know if it worked like that for him but she wouldn't wish it on anyone..except the originals or Katerina Petrova.]

[ he wasn't sure whether he'd desiccate or not. he'd never gotten that far in not feeding. there'd always been a back up plan or a source within reach when the cravings got too overwhelming. he'd gone a few days at most, and while he was, on some level, awfully curious about what would happen if you denied a vampire blood for that long... he didn't exactly want to find out. ]

I'll be right behind this door when you get here.

[ idly, he wonders if she's bound to the whole invite scenario. that was fictional for his kind, but given that a couple fictional qualities were already a reality for her... he also wonders if he'd have to invite her in, being that he was very much alive and still half human. well, abnormal human, anyway. ]

[rather than wasting anytime, Rose just ends the feed there and heads to the vampire bar to get a few bottles of the fake blood for him and one for herself. she's well known there by now so it isn't difficult for her to acquire them.

then she zips to sector two and heads towards his apartment, going up the stairs and knocks on his door a few times.]

Nikola? It's Rose. I have the blood you asked for.

[she has no idea if he had to invite her in because he was part vampire but that concept wasn't fictional in her world when it came to humans. vampires always had to be invited in and there were spells that could keep them out as well.]

You may have to invited me in though. Just to be sure.

[ there was irony to be found in a vampire needing to provide another vampire with an invite, but the metaphysical laws of worlds were funny like that. he probably registered as something alive and human to whatever supernatural force governed rose's world and the vampires that dwelled within it, and thus had sufficient ownership of a property to keep vampires of her particular type out if he so wanted. it would be mockable if the information weren't useful wrt the substantial vampire population everyone kept telling him this place had. ]

Thanks. [she said as she entered the apartment and moved to the middle of the room, waiting for him to tell her where to sit. rose glanced around the room she was in to take a good look around, hoping it would help her to learn more about him. her own apartment was sparsely furnished and decorated but it reflected her personality-or at least Rose tried to do that anyway.]

It's nice to finally meet you in person.

You're taller than I expected. [ mostly because at 6'2", nikola's quite used to towering over most people by quite a bit, even by today's standards. ] I'd offer you a glass of something, but I'm afraid I haven't trusted myself to leave in search of goods for fear I might find someone a little too tantalizing.

[ as for the apartment, it's rather plain at the moment, though neat and tidy. he's a very organized person who enjoys cleanliness, though he's not quite the obsessive germaphobe he was back in the early 20th century. shame history books seem to remember that about him. that and the pigeons. ]

There are those who would beg to differ. [ especially in recent years. nikola wasn't the best of hosts, but it wasn't like he had a permanent residence to play host in, or anyone to invite over for brunch for that matter, given he was supposed to be dead and flying under the radar. wrangling helen's sanctuary for her while they skipped merrily through the depths of hollow earth didn't count. ]

Not terribly so, but I'd rather spend a four hours wallowing in boredom than take a bite out of someone. Sinking your teeth into possible people from other worlds isn't high on my list of things to experience before I die.

[ there's be wine glasses to pull out and fill with blood had he begun making this space his own, but since he's lacking, he simply reaches for the bottle, pulls off the top, and takes a few long gulps. much better. he can already feel the tension uncoiling, melting away. ]

If you did bite someone you'd get punished so it wouldn't even be worth it.

[ she recalls the time back when she was rabid and blood thirsty-symptoms of a werewolf bite- and how she killed three people before she was stopped. Even here, when her emotions and urges were brought to the surface through a change in the atmosphere, she came really close to hurting someone. ]

Feel better? [rose asks him as she unscrews the cap from her own bottle and takes a much needed swig before bringing it down again. she knows that she always felt relieved after she drank some blood.]

Being hungry? [ she understood how bad it could get but rose had plenty of blood here, leaving her with no desire to drink from anyone. there were other vampires here and they seemed to have the same control but every one of them was different to her kind. ]

The feeling is still there within me but it's not as strong because I get the blood I need. A starving vampire can be a very dangerous thing.

But you are—and don't take this the wrong way, because I'm speaking from a point of teratological curiosity here; once a nerd, always a nerd—you're dead. Whereas I am very much alive. Having those dormant genes awakened and then reawakened may've not been the most comfortable experience of my life, but it certainly didn't kill me. Yet you, I'm assuming, had to die before your vampirism took effect. Correct?

	You are correct, Nikola. I had to die before I became a vampire. One has to die with vampire blood in their system before they awake again in a stage known as 'transition.'
