[Day 216] [BASEBALL - mingle]
[PLAY BALL!

Or cheerlead.

Or watch.

Or heckle.

It's an event everyone can enjoy!

There are some traditional snacks on hand. No alcohol sadly, but you can still have soda, hot dogs, and popcorn among other things. The bleachers provide enough seating for those who want to see exactly how vampires, humans, demons, mutants, etc. all play together. Not to mention some of them only recently even learned what baseball was. Never a dull moment at least.

In the end, it's the Flying Knights who win in this fairly evenly matched game, but there was some impressive action for both teams It should be an interesting season.]

(OOC: MINGLE! This is event style! Just put in your header whether your character is in the crowd, the purple dragons, the flying knights, cheerleading, before the game, or after the game or any combination! Please assume there was adequate IC announcement of this event!

Backdated to earlier in the day. Roster. It is not yet updated with recent additions from the last Yuuri post.)

[Asami doesn't really know what baseball is, but she knows a sporting event when she sees one. She thinks she's picking up a lot of the rules -- at least the basic ones -- as the game goes on, even if she's not quite sure that this is her kind of game. It's a welcome distraction from aimless wandering, if nothing else.]

[Pink-haired girl returns!] Hello, Asami. Did you enjoy the game? [Euphie had been cheerleading hence the uniform.]

It was definitely interesting. [She smiles, tossing her hair back behind her shoulder.] I've never seen this game before.

Really? Do you not have baseball where you're from, or have you just never attended a game?

We don't have this at home. Do a lot of worlds?

I suppose I'm not sure, but it seems like it from how well people play. Maybe they are just fast learners though. We do have it in my world though. I never attended a formal game before coming here. [In as much as these are formal.]

It does look like anyone can play. That's nice, especially in a place like this. [She likes spectating at big professional events, but she can definitely appreciate the stress relief getting into a game can bring. Even if this doesn't look like it has quite the adrenaline level of a racetrack.]

It is. [She smiles. This is so up Euphie's ally. Bringing people together for fun and teamwork!] I've never actually played myself. I'm on the cheerleading team though. [She looks down, reminded she's wearing the uniform.] Ah, but I suppose you knew that much.

Is that a formal thing too, where you're from? [Not like she doesn't get the idea, but the idea of an organized team for that sort of thing is a little surprising to her.]

Yes. [Hesitation] At least I think so. It isn't something I would have had the opportunity to do at home.

The school you went to was really strict? [That concept, at least, is none too foreign to her.]

[Richie is also a bystander, enjoying the game and the greasy foods. He is coming maneuvering through the bleachers with a large tray of fries when he accidentally trips, but thankfully he's got enough skills to snatch the tray out of the air before it lands in the lap of the nearest person.]

Oh, snap! Sorry!

[She's hardly an adult in her mind. A few years older than Richie, sure, but... she's Korra's age. Much as she loves her friend, that's all the proof she needs that she's not that old yet.] Asami's fine. [For one thing, she's not sure how fond she is of her last name right now.]

No, this is all pretty new to me. [She turns to look at the field again, mind working on the rules.] Pro bending was the big thing back in Republic City. When I was from, anyway. [Still getting used to all this magic world crossing stuff.]

Bending? [Now she's got him curious.] You mean like strong men who bend steel posts and stuff like that?

[info]satomobility

Metal bending's pretty new and specific. Just a subset of earthbending. And it was invented by Chief Bei Fong when she was just a little girl. [Asami's not exactly grasping Richie's question here, obviously.]

Really? That's awesome that a--wait. Earthbending? [Now he is both interested and confused.] I think we're...getting mixed messages here. When I say bending I'm thinking of a guy whole a steel bar and just twisting it until it's in the shape of a pretzel.

[info]put_it_in_gear

Yeah. That's why he's called a "strong man." He's so strong he can bend steel into whatever he wants. It's all part of the show. Usually at fairs or a circus.

[info]satomobility

And you're sure he's not just using earthbending to cheat?

...Well, I guess you wouldn't be, if you don't know what is. [Well, she shouldn't be that surprised. Richie looks mostly human, but that is not a naturally occurring hair color, so maybe he's not from a world all that similar to hers...]
