[Day 216] [BASEBALL - mingle]
[PLAY BALL!

Or cheerlead.

Or watch.

Or heckle.

It's an event everyone can enjoy!

There are some traditional snacks on hand. No alcohol sadly, but you can still have soda, hot dogs, and popcorn among other things. The bleachers provide enough seating for those who want to see exactly how vampires, humans, demons, mutants, etc. all play together. Not to mention some of them only recently even learned what baseball was. Never a dull moment at least.

In the end, it's the Flying Knights who win in this fairly evenly matched game, but there was some impressive action for both teams It should be an interesting season.]

(OOC: MINGLE! This is event style! Just put in your header whether your character is in the crowd, the purple dragons, the flying knights, cheerleading, before the game, or after the game or any combination! Please assume there was adequate IC announcement of this event!

Backdated to earlier in the day. Roster. It is not yet updated with recent additions from the last Yuuri post.)

[She smiles a bit. Despite feeling self-conscious, she had a great time, and Calliope can't really stay down about anything for too long.]

I did! I've never watched any sort of sporting event before. It was a bit repetitive, but still wholly enjoyable! It helps that everyone else was having fun, too.

Yes, it looked like people were enjoying it. I think that makes the game a success. [She wasn't sitting with the crowd of course, but she was doing her part to energize them.

She moves a little closer to get a better look at her friend. Ah...it is not green hair. Or hair at all. There might be a moment of what someone miiiight refer to as staring.]

[Calliope's whole body tenses up as she realizes Euphie's actually looking at her directly, and not just in the vague general sense.]

Um- y... es... I would agree, too...

[Does it help that she is done with the staring and on to the smiling?] Have you thought about participating?

[Only a little bit. Calliope's shame is still stronger.]

Oh, no, I couldn't. It's, um. I'm not very good at running. And I wouldn't exactly look good in the dress, either.

Oh, I don't know about that. The cheerleader uniform is surprisingly flattering.

[Calliope's face darkens green.]

Noooooo. I mean, it looks fine on you, and the others! Don't get me wrong.

S-still, the point is, I enjoy watching!

Well, spectators are important or there would be no one to encourage to cheer!

Right! [She smiles at Euphie, thinking and hoping that she is off the hook for that awkward expectation.]

How long have you been involved with the sport?

[For now. FOR NOW.] Oh, I'm not sure actually. It's been some time though. I feel like I joined rather early in being here. Months I think. At least with cheerleading. [She's not sure if that is a sport too!]

[Calliope has decided that it is an integrated part of the baseball experience, since no one has informed her otherwise.]

Hmm... didn't I also hear that you're involved with the, ah... "academy"?

Oh, yes, I am. Are you interested in taking classes or maybe teaching one?

[Calliope cannot imagine herself teaching, if only because she thinks that no one would be interested in classes about quadrants. It doesn't occur to her that she could teach art class.]

I don't want to say no to possibly taking a class or two! I've always liked the idea of school.

But I don't want to be a disruption.

[Art class would be wonderful! Occur! Occur!]

Oh, you would never be a disruption. There are so many wonderful subjects we could benefit from having!

[She smiles a little bit at that.]

I'll consider it. Really, I will.

But really, I'm lacking in useful skills, and my knowledge is so very, um, specific that it wouldn't help anyone. Not to mention how nervous I would be!

There are a few very specific classes now like criminology and toxicology. They seem well attended.

Toxicology?

... do you mean a class about poison?

Yes, that's right. A man named Piter deVries teaches it.

I suppose everyone has their eccentricities.

Please don't get me wrong. He is handsome enough. They're just very striking!

The cat part is something entirely separate.

Um.

[She promised Piter not to tell Caliborn. He said nothing about Euphie, so it should be fine, right?]

He tricked my brother into thinking that he's a cat.

... That Piter is a cat, I mean.

I don't really know.

[Kind of embarrassing to admit, but.]

My bro is not very, um...

Well, let me put it this way: he has a very special way of thinking. Piter probably found a way to take advantage of that.
