[Day 216] [BASEBALL - mingle]
[PLAY BALL!

Or cheerlead.

Or watch.

Or heckle.

It's an event everyone can enjoy!

There are some traditional snacks on hand. No alcohol sadly, but you can still have soda, hot dogs, and popcorn among other things. The bleachers provide enough seating for those who want to see exactly how vampires, humans, demons, mutants, etc. all play together. Not to mention some of them only recently even learned what baseball was. Never a dull moment at least.

In the end, it's the Flying Knights who win in this fairly evenly matched game, but there was some impressive action for both teams It should be an interesting season.]

(OOC: MINGLE! This is event style! Just put in your header whether your character is in the crowd, the purple dragons, the flying knights, cheerleading, before the game, or after the game or any combination! Please assume there was adequate IC announcement of this event!

Backdated to earlier in the day. Roster. It is not yet updated with recent additions from the last Yuuri post.)

[Euphie was a little surprised by how quickly the game came up, but she felt well prepared for the cheerleading at least! She finds the whole thing to be a lot of fun. It won't be hard to find her with a smile.]

[Calliope really does not want to do this, but she is forcing herself to.]

[So, once the game is over, she makes her way toward Euphie, pulling her hood down self-consciously as she hopes she can spontaneously and magically not look like either a green skull monster or a highly suspicious person.]

Umm, hello, Euphie!

Oh! [It's the voice that gets the enthusiastic pitch. She recognizes it as Calliope. She looks curious when her eyes land on the other girl. It's hard to see much at first with all that hood. Does she have green hair like C.C.?] Did you enjoy the game?

[She smiles a bit. Despite feeling self-conscious, she had a great time, and Calliope can't really stay down about anything for too long.]

I did! I've never watched any sort of sporting event before. It was a bit repetitive, but still wholly enjoyable! It helps that everyone else was having fun, too.

Yes, it looked like people were enjoying it. I think that makes the game a success. [She wasn't sitting with the crowd of course, but she was doing her part to energize them.

She moves a little closer to get a better look at her friend. Ah...it is not green hair. Or hair at all. There might be a moment of what someone miiiight refer to as staring.]

[Calliope's whole body tenses up as she realizes Euphie's actually looking at her directly, and not just in the vague general sense.]

Um- y... es... I would agree, too...

[Only a little bit. Calliope's shame is still stronger.]

Oh, no, I couldn't. It's, um. I'm not very good at running. And I wouldn't exactly look good in the dress, either.

[Calliope's face darkens green.]

Noooooo. I mean, it looks fine on you, and the others! Don't get me wrong.

S-still, the point is, I enjoy watching!

Right! [She smiles at Euphie, thinking and hoping that she is off the hook for that awkward expectation.]

How long have you been involved with the sport?

[For now. FOR NOW.] Oh, I'm not sure actually. It's been some time though. I feel like I joined rather early in being here. Months I think. At least with cheerleading. [She's not sure if that is a sport too!]

[Laura does not really pay as much attention to normal sports. Her idea of physical activity tends to involve more violence than even would be warranted in a hockey game or on a football field. Still, it is an event that many people seem to be interested in and she decides to observe. And not to prevent anything bad from happening for once. She is taking Artemis' words about a "break" to heart.

So she arrives and looks around at the field where not everyone has yet entered. She is known for showing up very early. She spots Euphie and realizes that she's wearing a uniform.]

I did not know you were a cheerleader.

Oh, yes, I joined months ago I think. Although there wasn't a lot of practicing or games going on then. It's changed since Caroline took over. Not that Sakura wasn't a wonderful leader!

You should join, Laura. I bet you'd be wonderful at it.

[Cessily had mentioned once that she was a cheerleader before her powers fully developed. It seems like those who do it well are more outgoing and social that Laura would ever consider herself being. But Euphie is asking her and it is not something she is...against.]

Is there a test?

There were tryouts earlier. Caroline might want to see an example of a cheer. I could teach you one to start with if you like.

No oral or written exams of course.

[Oh cheers. Yes, to be a cheerleader she will probably need to know them. But if Euphie is willing to teach her, then it should be fine.]

Yes, that would be fine. Cheers are not something I am...familiar with. [Her very brief experience in a normal high school is showing.]

They come with little routines too. Well, I suppose you saw that while you were watching. Is it your first time seeing cheerleaders? [Said in a way where that could be perfectly normal. Princess life led to a lot of missed "normal" experiences.]

It was not the first time, but I do not understand what the purpose of the cheers are. [They seem to be simple chants and rhymes, but the repetition doesn't seem all that "cheerful" to her.]

Oh, it's to get everyone's energy and excitement up so they shout their encouragement and the teams play harder.

At least that's how I understand it. [So not an expert!]

Hm. [That seems a bit unnecessary to her, but maybe there is more to it when the cheering is in action during a full audience. The only cheering she had seen before now had been during practices on the school's field.]

Okay. Which one do you think is the more effective cheer? [If she is going to learn, she would want to know the most useful one first.]
