[Action | Open]
[In pleasing contrast to the growing exhaustion that is becoming routine, Saya woke full of energy. She even beat Hei out of bed and wasted no time with silly things like appearance before venturing out in search of breakfast, hair finger-combed and feet bare. (Fortunately she had the presence of mind for a simple sundress, but only just.) She's bouncing, near literally, from restaurant to restaurant, ordering a full compliment at each of them and barely sitting still long enough to clean the plates before hurrying to the next. She can't seem to stop laughing...]

***

[It's difficult to pinpoint when or where, but at some point she changed her mind entirely. Her disinterest only applies to the mundane sort of food, though -- a drink sounds like just the thing, from a willing donor or... perhaps, unwilling might be fun... or a fight, maybe. Just someone to play with. She'll decide on a game later.]

[Her stalking around is mostly outdoors, and in between playmates she's busy tearing apart the hems of her dress, alternating long, slow threads and short, jagged rips as her mood suits. As soon as she spots anyone, Saya starts her approach -- whether they want company doesn't especially matter. C'mon, it'll be fun.]

***
((OOC: Obviously emotions may vary, but generally if you tag her in a restaurant I'll assume you want gigglier Saya and anywhere else you want the seductive playful Queen Saya. Attacks or blood-drinking are very possible if you want them but I will only do so with OOC permission))

[Even with the insistence, she still half-hesitates before nodding and her smile is cautious when it returns]

Um, so where do you have in mind...? [She's fine with anywhere, she's not a picky eater. It's just that Saya doesn't look to be in the mood to wait up, so she needs to know where to go. Tear's fast, but she'll still lose sight of Saya if the girl doesn't hold back]

[Saya's mood is not one of patience, true, but she remedies that problem by snagging Tear's hand and gently tugging her along.] Squeeze, maybe! I could use from fruit after all the waffles I just had.

How's your day going? It's a really nice one.

[She lets herself be led along easily, once again unrestrained and in a pleasant mood as they go]

It... is, actually. Peaceful, settled... it feels like the first time in a long while, for some reason. [It'd be strange... if she could dwell on it. But that seems impossible today] Say, have you had their french toast before?

Yep! It's been a while though. Usually I like the waffles, the ones with lots of fruit and whipped cream and chocolate. [Saya tugs Tear right into the shop and finds a table right near the front.] Maybe I should get both?

-- Oh! But I know what you mean. [It took her a second to get from food to mood. Priorities...] I haven't felt so good in a while. Probably because I'm so tired all the time with the Long Sleep approaching.

That's a lot... [Not that she hasn't seen anyone handle that kind of amount of food before, but they were guys. She lets it drop as quietly it was said while she settles into her seat, though; partly because she can't judge, mostly because she's mulling over what the other girl's let slip. It's a conscious effort not to blurt out her initial, invasive questions, she doesn't want to make Saya to close up. She wants to understand, she always has.

Her fingers drum the tabletop softly, as they wait for the server to come, as she decides what to ask]

How-- how long is long? [If this is why Saya figures she won't be around...]

Long. Like... loooong. [Saya holds her arms out as far as they can go.] Thirty years.

Ooh, crepes! [Saya can hardly sit still in her seat as she waits to order.]

[...That's definitely an absence. No wonder Saya has sounded so certain about "leaving" even after deciding to live.

She quietly gives her order for pancakes and a fruit parfait and fiddles with a napkin while Saya gives her own-- possibly with a disbelieving side-eye. It's a good moment after the server leaves that she speaks up again, hopeful note completely transparent in her voice]

But things can be different here.

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm going to sleep way faster than I would back home! Usually I have a long time. Three or four years. Here, it's only been a few months. I feel so cheated!

[And with that, she digs into her meal with gusto. Maybe she's taking the last meal thing too far?]

[Tear just stares for a moment, easily mistaken as being taken back by the no-holds attack Saya's launched upon her plate. However, the next instant she's abruptly stood up from her seat, hands flat on the table, which gives enough of a little wobble to spill a bit of her tea. She doesn't notice though, given that all her attention is spent on looking at Saya hopefully, and a fraction anxious too]

That's proof right there, isn't it...?! It might normally be a thirty year sleep, but what if it's only thirty weeks, or thirty days here! That's not that long at all compared to everything! [She lets that hang for about a second before sitting once again, though still slightly leaned over her side of the table]

People come back with memories after being gone longer than that.

But I won't. [Her mouth is full, but the words are mostly intelligible.]

[As she looks up at Tear, her expression falls.]
You're not another person who's going to try and talk me out of it, are you? I really don't like that. It makes everything awkward.

[She appears rather crest-fallen herself after that; cutting up her pancake and just idly pushing it around her plate for a bit, figuring out what to say when it's already kind of awkward and she does wish she could convince Saya on another way]

No, I'd just like you to consider... Not be so absolute... [Bringing her fork to her mouth after letting her sentence drop, she chews on a piece silently. How to say what she means to without being overbearing...]

Hmm. [Saya stuffs another few bites in her mouth as she considers that. Luckily she's in too good a mood to get snappy about Tear's attitude about her impending death, which is what would usually happen.] I think the problem is that no one really knows what it's like to wake up and have amnesia and no one around who knows you and can tell you everything. I mean, if I could wake up with all my memories I might be okay with it, but not knowing who you are is really bad.

I'm sorry, you're right. I don't know.

[A raw admittance, sincere. She's bad when it comes to that, forcing her own thoughts and ideals on others. She means well enough, simply hoping to use what she's learned from experience to keep others from struggling too.

But people have their own feelings and decisions regardless of everyone else]

It's just, I had a friend back home, who was in a similar situation. And I guess I wished you could see things like him; he eventually realized that without memories he could become someone new. Make new memories, meet new people, have experiences that a past might have kept him from.

I can't hide from what I am, though. Not for long. I feed on people, right? No matter what new memories I make I can't change that. And I'd honestly rather not wake up than have that moment where I find out I'm different than everyone else ever again.

Want a bite? [Too smoothly, Saya transitions to food once again. She's truly not herself today, but that's fine because like she said, herself isn't a great thing to be.]

That's so sad.

[It's out before she can really think, and were she in her right mind, she'd be horrified over that fact. It wouldn't change that she does feel that way, or that it's true, but it's certainly a sentiment she'd keep to herself.

Not so now. The unfairness of it all, and Saya's resignation is too much-- how casual she is right now-- and as much as she wishes with all her heart for something to be done about this... there's really nothing to be. Especially if Saya herself has decided to be done.

Fate might be changed, but not everything else can just be]

I-- I can't... [Shaking her head, she waves off the offer. Food is difficult at the moment; her own is now untouched]

Oh. Well can I have yours, then? [Sorry Tear, Saya's not catching on to the sullen mood, or that it has anything to do with what she's said.]

You shouldn't be sad. It's a good day!

Someone should be, if you aren't.

[Suddenly and a bit petulantly while she stares down her plate, as if defending herself, but it's well-meant really. Saya may have already accepted her fate herself-- though better than the kind of existential crisis Luke went through, it's still rather fatalistic-- but she feels someone should openly express the sadness of Saya's approaching end, when she deserved a happy life as much as or more than the next. Dwelling on it isn't good, but neither is acting like it's not important.

She looks up after a moment, sulkiness lingering somewhat, but she then pushes her plate over with a grudging lopsided smile. It's hard, after all that, but it is a good day, and Saya's in a good mood despite everything...]

Yay! Thanks. [And then she resumes eating, no sign whatever of the sadness Tear thinks would be more appropriate. Later, she'll look back on this conversation with a kind of awe, it being the first time she bothered to hear anyone's opinion, more or less, without cutting them off.]

[It won't change her mind, but it will weigh heavily.]
