Day 206 [Video | Action]
[Waking up is always disorienting for Peter. Waking up in an unfamiliar place wearing clothes that aren’t his is nearly panic inducing. It’s enough that he doesn’t really absorb or register the welcome message that is presented to him. His mind jumps to conclusions: maybe what happened to Dr. Connors is happening to him; the spider DNA is taking over the human DNA and he’s blacking out. Maybe the police caught him and he has a massive head injury, which is why he can’t remember how he got here wearing a prison jumpsuit.

Except…except when he looks around, this isn’t like any prison he’s ever seen, any he’s ever heard of. Once he calms down, he notices that he’s nearly deaf and blind which brings about a fresh wave of panic during which he realizes he’s neither deaf or blind, he’s simply lacking all the spidey senses he’s become so accustomed to. After some experimentation involving doorknobs and benches, he discovers that his super strength is gone as well. It becomes apparent his balance has returned to normal pre-bite clumsy when he trips over his own feet walking over to sit on the bench he’d just been trying to mutilate. That’s when he finally pays attention the information he’s been given and figures out (to a degree) what’s going on. He doesn’t contact the network quite yet though. Instead, he liberates a pair of jeans, a tee shirt, tennis shoes and a hoody, changes into them and hits the food stands. It’s only after he’s dressed and has been fed that he decides to navigate the network. At least his tech knowledge and ability hasn’t been stripped from him.]

And suddenly I’m in Sci-Fi Land, which I always thought should be a real place in Disneyland. I mean they’ve got Tomorrowland, but who are we kidding? It didn’t look anything like what I imagined the future would be. They could bling it out with tech and holograms, all kinds of shiny things and lights, people walking around in too much latex. Maybe an alien or two, the friendly sort…

[He stops rambling and his brow furrows a moment.] That—that got away from me. Any chance Oscorp has their fingers in this?

[ He’d question NYPD because they want Spiderman gone as much as anyone, but he doesn’t think they have the juice or funds to make that happen, not to mention that as far as he knows, they don’t know Peter Parker and Spiderman are one and the same.]

[ooc: If you’d like to action, you can catch Peter in sector 0 wearing the orange jumpsuit, trying to break a bench or a doorknob or a something. You can come upon him sitting on the bench and learning all about Marinanova or shopping in the clothing stores or scarfing down an incredible amount of food at any number of street vendors]

Oh, I'm on the street with all the food vendors. There's a really great selection.

Yeah. Totally. I'll be here.

[When she shows up, Peter is polishing off a hot dog. He stuffs what's left of the hot dog into his mouth and waves Aradia down.]

Hey!

[And then sheepishness because oops talking with his mouth full]

[ aradia waves excitedly as she bounces right on over to peter, flashing him a thumbs up as she watches him shove the rest of the food right in his mouth. ]

It's good stuff, isn't it?

[He nods enthusiastically.]

Yeah it is. I wasn't expecting good prison food.

You'll be discovering a lot of things you didn't expect here.

[ she grins, bouncing a bit as she stands. ]

It's part of what keeps it all from being too boring.

Precisely!

[ an enthusiastic nod. ]

So have you poked around the rest of Sector 0 yet, or did you just head straight over here to the food?

Nah, I was starving. Just went straight to the food. So you get to show me the whole shebang. [He stops and gestures toward the hot dog stand.] You want to get something before we head off?

[ she pauses to think about this. ]

Honestly, I've never had any food from the vendors. Would you believe that this'd be my first hot dog?

[ she's made her decision, so she starts moseying on over to the stand. ]

No way! Okay...yeah you definitely have to try hot dogs. Pizza is good too. And street tacos.

What're those like? Pizza and street tacos?

[ once she finally gets her hotdogs, she loads it up with literally every condiment available. if she's going to try this, she's gonna go all the way. ]

Really? You've never had pizza or tacos? Okay, we've got to get those too. [Once she's loaded her hot dog up, he's going to start meandering toward the pizza stand. He's assuming she'll walk and eat like a New Yorker despite the fact she's not one. Heck, he figures everyone walks and eats like New Yorkers.]

Nope! We didn't have those back home. Our food was different.

[ she follows, carefully balancing her hot dog. relish begins to slide off, and so she hurries to take a bigger bite to catch it all. ]

Do you miss it? The food from home, I mean.

[info]corpsepartying

A little bit. Most of what I miss from home is just because it's familiar. I do like all the new things I'm discovering, but the thing is, almost all of it is new.

Yeah. Definitely.

[ she shoves the last of the hot dog in her mouth and hiccups, giggling at herself after. ]

I just get sort of sad about it sometimes, is all. It's no big deal, but I do miss all my friends -- things weren't normal with us all before we got pulled here, either, so. It's all weird.

[ headin' on over towards the pizza now. ]

Which kind do you think I should get?

[Peter nods a little at her words.]

I'm going to miss my Aunt a lot. I worry about her. She's on her own at home.

[He glances up at the menu but really it's a no-brainer]

You have to have one with everything on it. Supreme.

I'm sorry. If we're being told the truth, though, there's another version of you back home with her, so you might not have to worry about her too much.

[ she nods - and a supreme she gets. it's a large, wide piece, and she looks vaguely intimidated by it before folding it in half and taking a bite. ]

It's probably weird for you, I know. It was easier for me because, um, it had happened back home already, but ...

[ holding the folded-up pizza in one hand, she pats him on the back with the other in an attempt at comfort. ]

I possess the ability to manipulate time in such a way that, at one point in time, I had an entire army of alternate selves.

It got a bit crazy.

Wow. [He looks suitably impressed and a little shell shocked by the idea at the same time.] That sounds really--really complicated and chaotic.
