First purchase when the stores open: One each mechanic's tool set.

Anybody needs an engine carried downstairs, let me know.

Verrrrrry funny, Santa. I would have been perfectly happy with a set of keys and a note to look in the garage. Guess I know what my after-work hours will be spent doing for the next few months.

That does seem to be a theme.

What did Santa bring you?

It looks like my Maserati coupé. Complete to a repaired bullet hole between the tail lights. Too nice an automobile to make bedroom furniture out of.

Very nice.

Sounds to me that Santa has a sense of hubris.

A sense of something...

I've been eying the outer wall. Think the staff would get upset if I put a large hole in it? Although the body will fit through the doors sideways if I take the wheels off.

Um, yes. Yes, I think they would be.

Also... the doors are only at most three feet wide... and I'm fairly certain the body is taller than that.

But hopeful thinking might lead to a solution sooner or later.

Hopeful thinking and a plasma torch. With the roof, windscreen, and driveline off the body is an easy fit. Looks like a body-off rebuild is in the cards. Like I said, a couple of months. Santa must have thought I needed a hobby.

I shouldn't be laughing. I really shouldn't.

But I can't help myself.

You are correct. Laughing is not helping.

By the way, there seems to be an H&K USP compact sitting around here with your name on the tag. I thought you might like something that would fit in your purse a little better than that big bit of iron you go jogging with. I'm home all day if you'd like to drop by for some seasonal tippling.

I'm up for tippling anytime. I'll be right over. I'm assuming you got the package I left this morning?

That I did. Many thanks.
