Whenever there was any reason at all, the house was decked out for a party, and Bucky's birthday was a great reason. True to his tastes things were obnoxiously decorated and there was enough food to feed a couple of armies spread around, both inside and out. Everything from the usual party fare to a few dishes of questionable recipes that Steve had assured were 1930s accurate, something he and Bucky had eaten regularly when they were young.

As usual, the backyard had been turned into a bonfire, chasing off the end of winter chill and providing a place for people to roast marshmallows if they were so inclined. There was plenty of seating out there, too.

Music curated by teenagers played throughout the house, quietly enough not to be obnoxious but enough to heard no matter where someone went. Centre of attention on the kitchen table was an enormous cake with 'HAPPY 101ST' scrawled across the icing.
