Summary: Things hadn’t gone well for Remus Lupin since the end of the war, so he didn’t think he could afford to pass up an unexpected inheritance from someone he’d never met. Of course it turned out there were a few strings attached, including having to share his surprise windfall with Severus Snape. Not that Snape was particularly happy about that...

Notes: I decided to be generous this time around and allow everyone to survive the war which, even if I hadn’t fudged around with a few other small things, would be more than enough to make this story AU.

Previously, I've done a Hawaiian-themed rec list and a Japanese-themed rec list, so for my final Decade of Snape/Lupin entry, I thought I would put together of a list of fics where Snape and Lupin travel to other countries. (Inspired by this comment from wolfiefics on IJ: "Makes you wonder what other 'geographic' themed stories are out there where Snupin Goes World Hopping?")

It's by no means comprehensive, and I know there must be a lot of other fics out there that have them going abroad, but here are a few of my favorites. (If they seem familiar, some of the entries were borrowed from past recs I've made on snapedom.)

Timeline: Post war, both lived, the Tonks train wreak never happened and thus no Teddy.
