Just what is love? Where does it come from? How does it grow? I asked myself these questions as I read the remarkable Hemlock, or the Beast Within by dingochow [R] (2007 Snupin Santa gift).

Why I recommend it: Acceptance is quite possibly the most precious thing one in love can do for their lover. Remus' acceptance makes room for Severus, and others, as he lives in exile during the war. The gentle growth of trust...I can't describe well, really. I don't think I've ever been privileged to experience it in quite this manner.
My summary: Sent away for safety's sake during the war, Remus finds himself in a new city and with a new name. He also finds a companion with four legs and an attitude when he least expects it. Together, they find the necessary answers, and hope.
