Who: Lýdia and Heath; Shadowhunters verse
What: a lunch
When: right after this this
Lýdia had little to none of the prejudices against Downworlders that some of her fellow Shadowhunters harbored. With the exception of still being angry about the incident at the last party, she thought there was more to be gained from connections made between Shadowhunters and Downworlders than lost. That was a part of her excuse for instantly agreeing to a lunch with Heath. A tiny part of her excuse, at least. Mostly she just genuinely wanted to spend some time in the warlock's company. Though their connection was still on the tentative side, even though they'd had a few opportunities to spend time in each other's company, she thought they were hitting it off really well. She couldn't deny that Heath was attractive, and she was appreciating his personality, too, and she thought she would love to get to know him better. While the life of a Shadowhunter didn't leave that much time for dating, there was no reason to not give things a try. Especially when someone so sweet appeared on her radar. She wasn't even intending to play hard to get.
That he'd invited her to a lunch was a good sign, even if it had been just to distract her from her current feelings and mood. Though she thought it was perhaps more than that; Heath did enjoy the time spent with her, she was sure of that. One thing she was regretting, however, was that she'd agreed to meet up at such a short notice. It didn't leave her with much time to get ready and she hated the thought that she would look anything but flawless. Though she could do her makeup fairy quickly, having had enough practice, she needed more than half an hour to get prepare for a lunch with a man she was interested in. Though she had a few favorite outfits she could pick from, ones she was confident Heath had not seen her in before, she did need to choose carefully.
In the end, as much as she hated to be late to anything, she was forced to make the warlock wait for her a few minutes. Finally, though, she made her way out of the Institute, dressed for success. Heath could either like the way she looked or be wrong.
