I have apologized a billion times when I've gone off the wall like Busta Rhymes
Who: Zeke McMahon and Calista Kosko
Where: Zeke's apartment at the Court
When: Evening
There were lots of things Zeke should probably be doing at the moment. Like eating dinner, there were leftovers in his fridge from the Owl's Nest. The food had been awesome, there was no doubt about that, but still, he wasn't hungry. He'd gone back to the Scarlet Oak Sun after meeting up with Gwyneth and proceeded to sit at his desk all day, playing Bejeweled and pretending like he was doing work. Truth was, he wasn't. Deadline wasn't looming quite yet and therefore, he had plenty of time to procrastinate, to find something else to distract him.
But the fact was, now that he was alone, he couldn't stop thinking about Holly. About the things she'd said to him, the same phrase echoing in his mind: It's easier to leave than to get left. Zeke was never the kind of guy to handle emotions well, and between talking to Holly's boyfriend - accidentally - and having to tell Holly as much - not accidentally - it had been eating away at him. Little by little, and sooner or later he was going to break. Even Scooby didn't know what to do anymore, laying on his doggie bed and just watching his master pace back and forth in the apartment.
Eventually, Zeke turned to the one thing he knew he could still do well: play music. Pulling out his guitar, he played the first tune that came to mind, not caring if his neighbors were trying to sleep, or what else might be going on. All that mattered were the strings under his fingers and the lyrics that were all too fitting, given the situation. It wasn't until the song finished that he realized someone was, in fact, knocking on his front door.
