Though I know you really like to see me suffer, still I wish that you and I'd forgive each other
Who: Liliya, Naoki, and Snowball (NPC)
Where: Kennedy residence
When: Early evening
Shizuka hadn't suffered from the demon attacks at all, thank god. Naoki had done his best to fortify the spa with his wards and protection spells and closed down the facilities, though left it open for those who were seeking a haven of some sort. It wasn't as good a a church, but the spells placed upon the building was good enough. No one who worked for him was harmed as well, so once he left the place, he headed on back home. He could already sense that the spells on the home with Liliya were starting to fade. Naoki refused to have a demon attack their residence and refused to have any harm come Liliya's way.
Stepping out into the light rain, he looked at the structure before sitting out in the front yard. Snowball was right behind him, a bit confused as to why her master was not going inside where it was dry and warm. Though once she spotted him pulling out a few ofuda scrolls out from his briefcase, Snowball instantly sat beside him and knew what he was doing. The pieces of paper slowly soaked up the moisture from the rain while Naoki laid them out before him, murmuring an ancient Japanese chant. It was a powerful spell that was meant to be placed upon sacred temples. While continuing the chant, he retrieved a pocket knife from the briefcase, something he wasn't keen on using, but knew it would amplify the spell. Slitting both his palms, he flinched for a moment, then placed his bloody hands face down onto the ground. A gentle chime surrounded the area, though Naoki heard nothing. He simply persisted with the chant while white light began to flood out from his hands and swirl around the house. All sorts of barriers and wards were thrown about as he focused.
He couldn't let anything distract him from casting the spell. Not the thought of his sister in the hospital or Tessa being attacked by the demon or his mother informing he derived from an angel or even Liliya herself. His mind was clear of all negative thoughts and his full concentration was on the spell at hand. Having Snowball by his side was enough to amp up the spell even more, and as he did his work, he felt something different. Naoki could feel the powers that pulsed through his body grow even stronger. He was familiar with the sensation and knew it was parallel to the feeling that embraced him when he progressed as a witch when he was younger. Was he finally increasing his rank to mastery? Now wasn't the time to figure that out, but all he knew was that the newfound surge of power that rushed through him was also increasing the strength of his current spell.
Only a few more minutes and the ritual was done, and the second it was, Naoki gasped for air and found himself collapsing to the ground. Completely exhausted and drained from the ritual, he remained motionless on the ground. Snowball instantly shot up and whimpered while she nuzzled into him, then proceeded to bark out loud in hopes that Liliya would come help.
