They Will Write About Us in the History Books
Who: Myra and Psalm
Where: Around the casa de Lowell
When: Sunday June 21, 2009 afternoon
Asking Mr. Lowell to take Myra on a walk carried much more significance than Myra or Michael probably knew. Only Psalm knew what was going on in his head that day. He got the okay, only if he agreed that the bear could go along. Alcaeus. The bear had a name and a purpose, though Psalm was still slightly frightened of it. Who wouldn't be though? A 19 year old boy who's girlfriend had a bear tagging along. That was more than enough reason to keep his hands to himself. That bear was better than any chastity belt, not that Psalm was going to try any of that stuff.
He showered, shaved, laid out his clothes and deliberately went over them three times. After deciding on the clothes, that shocker, weren't entirely black. He got dressed, carefully slipping the glass ring box in his pocket before walking downstairs. He paced the family room a good five times before heading back up the stairs to knock on Myra's door. And even then, he just stood there for another five minutes before knocking. He was nervous as hell but he knew that being nervous was stupid. Fate had kept pushing them together for a very good reason up to that point, so it wasn't unlikely for them to be taking this step. Just, you know, probably not so soon. He took a deep breath, because he had to act normal, he didn't want to freak her out. He just wanted things to be better for Myra. He wanted her whole world to thrive and shine and be just what she always wanted. He wouldn't be doing this if he didn't think that he fit somehow into her picture.
Honestly though? He knew, deep down he knew, that he was good for her, perfect for her actually. He wouldn't ever be as happy with anyone else as he could be with her. And she fought so hard for so long to be with him he was positive she felt the same as him. Grinning to himself, he knocked again. "Myra?" He asked. "Well, Myra and Alcaeus? You guys ready?"
