Sunday morning food recycling
Who: Chloe and Coby
Where: Camelot Place, their respective balconies
When: At about 10am
Sunday was not a day to get up early. Ever. Chloe's parents had instated a 'late-night/late-morning' rule for weekends, and Chloe still lived by it to this day. Why wouldn't she? She never set the alarm and she was quite happy waking up whenever. But not today. Today her whole body told her it was too damn early to be awake, and her ears felt like they were being raped by sound itself. Especially since she had that special talent for hearing things better, and she slept with the window slightly open to allow a breeze to blow in.
Inevitably, Chloe had to wake up completely, and resigning herself to the circumstances, she went to take a shower. It was when she was getting dressed, searching around the house for clothing items she had undoubtedly forgotten here and there before, that the noise became more apparent and Chloe had to check it out.
"What the hell...?" She mumbled as she bent over the balcony railing to look downstairs at all the commotion. Protesters? In her apartment building?
"They're protesting against us." Chloe heard Leelo's voice in her mind, clear as if it was her own, and looked over her shoulder at the dog. "You left the TV on, they were talking about the management allowing familiars this morning, so I suppose that's what's getting their knickers in a bunch down there."
Rolling her eyes almost to the back of her head, Chloe sighed. "Okay. That's just bullshit." And with this she made way into the kitchen, into one of the non-empty cupboards where half a carton of eggs sat for months - and Chloe did not want to guess how disgusting they must be by now - and then took a few tomatoes from the fridge.
Without giving another thought to the fact that she'd been getting dressed, and that she was only wearing her underwear and striped stockings, Chloe set for the balcony and started throwing eggs.
"Boo! Go away!" She screamed as she threw the semi-rotten eggs and tomatoes down at the protesters. The half empty cartons of Chinese food also sitting in the fridge for a while might just be next.
