Where You'll Find Me
Who: Psalm and Myra
When: Wednesday June 17, 2009 late evening
Where: U of M Hospital

Psalm was in shock when he walked out of Bunny's house. He looked awful. He felt awful, but not for the expected reasons. He just wanted to be with Myra, sure he was still pretty damn bitter about being locked up in a basement for nearly five days. Sure it wasn't on the same lines as being kidnapped and used as a source of blood, but it wasn't exactly a cake walk either. Waiting out of the house were the spirits, and honestly he was a bit relieved to see those evil ghosts.

Bunny's house wasn't far from the Lowell's so he tried there first. But they were all gone, presumably to the hospital. He couldn't go to Olivia's - she would probably never want to see him again. Which really freaking sucked considering he was going to need a job pretty soon. Deciding that it would be alright to shower first (as Myra would probably appreciate a non-smelly Psalm best), he used his key to go into the empty Lowell house. It was frightening to be there alone. He had never ever been there alone before, he was so used to it being loud, shaking, almost alive and ready to laugh. But now there was nothing, just silence. He went up the stairs and to Parker's room, his stuff all piled to the side. They had probably forgotten about him with all of the shock of Myra going missing, at least that's what he had been counting on this whole time. Psalm loved the Lowells, and they loved him, but he was not their flesh and blood. So it was different.

He grabbed a change of clothes and headed for the shower, keeping it as short as possible so he could see Myra sooner. Once he got out and changed he passed by Myra's room, peering in and smiling to himself before he ran down the stairs. He was hungry but didn't stop for food, but instead started walking to the hospital. He didn't have any money or anyone who would come and take him there, so it was his only option. When he finally got there, it was well past visiting hours...like something like that was going to stop him though! It didn't even take that much sleuthing to get past the nurses bank.

Once he was past that hurdle though, he looked around and inhaled sharply. He had only been in a hospital three times in his life - and it was always this one. Two of those times - when he was born and when he broke his arm, he couldn't remember. But the third? The day he woke up to find that he was all alone? He kept having flashes of it run through his head. He half expected those two cops to come and ask him where he was trying to go. Snap out of it Psalm. This is a happy day. He was going to see Myra. He was going to get to hug and kiss her. And finally see with his own two eyes that she was safe.

He closed his eyes for a moment and regained his composure before continuing his sluethster ways down the hall. Stopping in front of her room, he slowly opened the door so he wouldn't wake her if she was sleeping. Seeing her sleeping, so peacefully at that, was the happiest moment of his life. She was alive and relatively okay. Even if he wasn't there to protect her, she had somehow made it. He took off his shoes before walking further into the room, again so he wouldn't wake her. When he was by the bed, he crouched down so he would be eye level with her. He studied her for a moment before reaching his hand out to place on her cheek. "I'm sorry it took me so long." He whispered to her, not hoping to wake her just yet. "I'm sorry Myra, but I'm here now. I'll never leave your side again."

Myra had been sleeping quite deeply when she felt a familiar presence. It was odd how she just seemed to know when he was close. Her eyes fluttered open at the sound of his voice, regardless of how quiet it was. "This isn't a dream this time, is it?" she whispered back, too scared that the moment would disappear if she spoke too loudly.

Psalm smiled despite the fact that he didn't want her to wake just yet. Her confusion about it being a dream made his eyes widen just slightly. Did she have the same dream? That was impossible right? Things like that didn't just happen. They would have time to figure all of that out later, right now he needed to figure out what to say to her. He let out a small laugh. "It's most definitely happening." He told her, moving in just a little bit closer. "I'm really here."

Myra scooted over in the hospital bed and patted the spot next to her. She wanted to be as close to him as possible right then, regardless of whether this was reality or a dream. "Good," she said with a smile. "Are you okay?" she asked him in a worried voice.

Taking the hint, Psalm got on the bed, careful not to sit on any of the wires and tubes running along side the bed. He blinked twice, again pushing away images of his last trip to this hospital before lying back and pulling her close to him. "I'll be okay." He told her kissing her several times on the forehead. "I'll be okay." He bit down on his lip, shaking his head. She had no idea the hell he'd been through just to make it to that point to get there, and if he was lucky, she would never have to endure anything like the torture of not being able to help a loved one. If he had it his way, she'd never feel pain again. She'd never be taken from him again. "Are you?" He asked her in return. "I wasn't there." He whispered, almost afraid of what she would say, the anger she would feel for such a let down. "I tried so hard, but I wasn't there. I'm so sorry."

Myra knew that he wasn't okay. She could see it in his eyes. Hospitals were never a happy place, but they held a lot of bad memories for Psalm especially. Her arm curled around him as she hugged him as tight as she could which wasn't particularly tight at all, really. Tears welled up in her eyes as everything hit her at once. Psalm is here, she thought as she buried her face in his shoulder.

She dodged his first question on purpose. How could she answer it anyways? It was too difficult for her. She didn't know if she would ever be okay again. Part of her felt deranged, lost. It was horrifying. She thought she would never get out of that dark place ever again and now she was with Psalm. Nothing made sense. "Don't you dare apologize. There was nothing you could do. The man that had us was very powerful. I'm just glad you didn't get hurt," she said, her voice choked up. "Please don't blame yourself. I can't take that."

Psalm pursed his lips as he tried his best not to cry. He wasn't exactly what you would call a pretty crier and he didn't let himself do it often after his parents died. Crying, like so much else, was a far more innocent act than someone forced to grow up in a day could work with. He held onto her as tightly as he could without hurting her as he realized she was holding back tears as well.

"Myra please," he pleaded with her, his voice strained. "I made you a promise and I failed you. I had a plan, it was a good plan too. But..." But Bunny went batshit and locked me in her basement. "I should have tried harder. Myra, nothing is worth it without you. There is no point to all of this without you. If you - If you had..." he couldn't even bring himself to say the word died because he just wanted it all to be over. But he needed to say this. He needed her to understand how truly sorry he was and how this really was all his fault - or at least in his head anyway. "Enough bad has happened to you, it should have been me that they took. It should have been me, Myra. You're so good and I'm nothing."

Even those words failed to convey what he was feeling. He was in love with her, yes, without a shadow of a doubt, but this went beyond that. The shining moments of his life were all with her. He couldn't even show himself to the Lowells after he knew what had happened. How could he ever look Michael in the eye and tell him that he didn't do enough to save her from being taken? He would still have to face the man eventually, but it was one step at a time. Myra first because she mattered most to him.
