A few times I've been around that track
Who: Tessa and Nick (plus an NPC neighbor, plus familiars)
Where: Outside Camelot Place to start
When: Morning

It is getting late. You should wake up.

Inaki's paw pushed at Tessa's face and she swatted it away, rolling over in her bed, onto her stomach. "Thought I told you not to sleep in my bed," she muttered.

There was a pause, and then the fox sniffed at her head, nose cold as it brushed over her ear. Can you hear me?

"Of course I can hear you, idiot. You're always in my head." Tessa pulled the sheets over her head, because no matter what time it was, she was not ready to get out of bed this morning. "Why would you ask a stupid question like that?"

Because for the last three days, you have not answered anything I have told you. You even tried to give me away to someone else like you did not recognize me. She felt Inaki's tail thumping on the bed, right next to her arm. I was... most disturbed. You are quite lucky you did not get into any serious danger while I was unable to advise you.

She groaned. "You say that like I'm going to, I don't know, get hit by a car or something if you're not around." But now that she thought about it, the last few days had been... weird. She'd seen Troy and Jackson, she knew that. And it felt like Jackson wasn't Jackson, but like he'd... been another brother? And Inaki was right, she had been weirded out by the fox following her around. Like she'd forgotten she had a familiar at all. "Before you ask? No, I haven't been drinking and no, I didn't do any drugs, okay? Just... fuck." Her memories were fucked up, somehow. And she had no idea what was out there that could potentially do that.

Inaki used a paw to pull down the covers, so she was forced to look at him. I am glad, and the fox actually sounded amused by that, that you are still your usual self. You should get out of bed, however. I feel as if Troy may need you.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm going." It was no surprise that Tessa disliked mornings, especially when she looked up the weather for the day. Downpours in the afternoon were a great way to piss off any fire elemental for sure. Just meant she'd probably spend the day inside the dojo until she absolutely had to go out in that mess. After a quick shower and gathering her things, she headed out towards her car, Inaki tagging along. This time she didn't mind the fox's presence, and she felt kind of bad about how she'd treated him the last few days. Sure, Inaki liked to act like he was her conscience, as if she didn't have one of her own, but she did love him, and couldn't imagine her life without him now.

She was so lost in her thoughts as she dug her keys out of her purse that she didn't notice one of her neighbors lingering in the parking lot. She did, however, look up when he whistled in her direction. "Looking good over there. Where you off to, sweetie?" the guy called over to her, winking at her.

"Ugh," was the first word that got out of her mouth, followed by, "Legit, do you think that works on women or do you just genuinely not know any better?"

"Don't you know how to take a compliment?"

"Sorry, catcalls aren't appropriate. Ever." If he came closer, she was tempted to remind him that there was a reason she was dressed in workout gear, and it wasn't to go to the gym. Or maybe she would light him on fire. It would be overkill, but he'd certainly get the message, wouldn't he?

Of course Fires were the most formidable. Tessa was quite fond of her element and while she could see the advantages the other elements had, she was meant to be a Fire. Hence why she saw little point in hiding it, because it made sense, given her personality and outlook on life. But there were other benefits, too, because she was sure her element had something to do with her desire to succeed, her willingness to help others - in the most unconventional way possible, but still, it was helping in her own way - and that hadn't changed with the Light of May. If nothing else, she had an excuse for some of her less rational behavior.

It was only when she looked over at him again that she noticed that Guy #2 - Nick, he'd said his name was - had a cat coming up to him, sitting by his feet. She'd never seen a cat act like that before, so calm and collected, but then again, she had a red fox at her feet, so she wasn't really able to talk. If Inaki gave her away as something supernatural, then perhaps Nick had a familiar, too. The fact that his skin was as warm as hers had her smiling.

"Nice to meet you, Nick," she said, letting go of his hand so she could push her hair out of her face. "I'm a martial arts instructor, so I know a million and one ways to make him get the message. Let me guess, you're one of those 'always on call' doctors who never gets to sleep in your own bed?" Which was great for him, actually, if he liked that sort of life. Tessa often found that she needed to blow off some steam every once in a while, and if she didn't do that, things could get ugly. No one wanted that.
