So Much For a Quiet Drink
Who: Mikhail and Johan
Where: Anywhere But Here
When: 7pm-ish
Rating: Blood, Violence, Mutilation You have been warned.
Mikhail didn't drink very often. He'd been raised to believe it was a nasty Gaje habit, and there was still a lot of blame for the downfall of more than one troupe because men bewitched by devil liquor. Marshall had been a man of extreme discipline, alcohol dulled the senses and slowed reflexes. Drinking wasn't a habit a hunter could really afford, in any way.
But after the last few days he had, he needed something to relax himself. His life had been one jarring encounter after another lately. First Amelie wanted him to teach her about vampires. That wasn't so strange, hunters had to learn from someone and like him, she hadn't come from a hunter line.
Then Annie had asked him to teach her to defend herself. That was strange, considering he'd nearly killed her trying to destroy the monster she'd been harboring. But she had a right to defend herself.
And Shanti...well, he didn't even want to go there. That was beyond bizarre. He couldn't stop thinking about her, and not just because she was so like him it was almost frightening. She was a beautiful woman after all and he'd seen far more of her in the last two days than he'd seen of any woman in years.
He should not be thinking about any woman like that. He had to keep reminding himself of that. No attachments. Besides, he didn't defile women with his unclean body. The few times he had, they had been prostitutes who'd been very willing. And paid well.
Of course, would it be defilement when she was as damned as he was?
Better to drown such thoughts in brandy than explore them at all. Especially since the woman clearly despised him.
