If there is sorrow, there is beauty and trust
Who: Tessa and Brendan
When: Early afternoon
Where: The local greenhouse
Troy still wasn't 100 percent himself. Tessa hated seeing her brother so off-kilter, and she knew there was nothing she could do about it, not really. Healing from a vampire attack was one thing, but healing emotionally was another story. Logically, Tessa knew this. Emotionally? She was struggling, knowing her brother's inner fire was waning and hating every single moment of it. Troy wasn't like Tessa, and thus showing up at his apartment with another bottle of Jack Daniels and making a night of it would only work for so long.
Of course, she was also convinced that taking Lida out of the picture once and for all would help, too, but that was neither here nor there.
Maybe what Troy needed was a little pick-me-up. Her brother had a big zen garden out back behind the dojo, and Tessa figured that maybe some new plants to add to his collection might do the trick. Their mother often worked in her garden when she was stressed, and any elemental could turn to their chosen element in times of need. It was with that thought in mind that Tessa went to the closest greenhouse she could find, intent on picking out something new for Troy's garden. But once she was inside, and looking over the selection, she realized that she knew absolutely nothing about plants. All the ones in her apartment were bamboo, and didn't require much attention, but here there were so many different kinds, plants that worked well with each other, plants that didn't... she was screwed.
She wasn't aware how long she was standing in the aisle, looking at the selection in front of her, one hand on her hip. Surely they wouldn't sell plants here that couldn't survive in Michigan, right? Snow was coming soon - and the fire elemental shuddered at that thought - and she didn't want to give him something that wouldn't make it more than a few months. Sighing, Tessa kneeled down to take another look at the plant's tag. "This shouldn't be this hard," she muttered to herself.
