Pack Emergency
Who: Jo and August (other Summers and Summers' close ones also welcome of course)
Where: At the high school
When: WAY PAST LOTTI AND KYLE'S BEDTIME
Being close to her siblings did not mean to Jo being controlling or wanting to know more than what they wanted to tell her. She didn't know if Lotti or Kyle had plans for after the dance, but they had discussed that both of them would text Jo if they changed locations - it was the very least in terms of security. When that text never arrived but neither did Lotti or Kyle (or both together), Jo wondered what could be the hold up. She knew better than to put the blame on her siblings from the get-go, although it wouldn't have been out of the realm of possibility that her brother and sister had simply forgotten to let her know they were staying out past the dance's end. About half an hour past 10pm Jo tried texting Lotti and then Kyle, but neither text got delivered. Then, she tried to call, over and over again - with no answer. She knew Lotti's dates number, too, and tried that. Same thing.
Appropriately, Jo went online immediately, trying to gauge exactly whether something was going on - and that was when she realized it wasn't just Lotti who wasn't replying or answering her phone; no one was. Facebook Statuses were being updated revealing information about a huge crash at the high school, as well as a huge number of cops. Needless to say, when the call came in from the police Jo was already pretty much freaking out. Being the one to answer the phone she was promptly informed of an incident - which she had managed to gather already - and asked to go to the high school. This couldn't be good.
Despite screaming internally the whole time Jo managed to convince her parents to let her be the one to go to the school. They were barely done with talking when she grabbed the keys and was out the door, phone in hand. She couldn't do this alone, so she called the very first number on her list - August. She managed to stammer through a brief explanation that culminated in Jo begging him to come meet her at the school.
Not five minutes later, she had arrived. They could ticket her for speeding while she was already there, if they wanted. Realizing that the cops had as much to say as the people on Facebook, which meant no real updates, Jo leaned against the side of the car and tried to take deep breaths to keep from freaking out.
