If it hadn't been for the fact that Troy had stubbornly got it into his head that he would be visiting his girlfriend Lux, then he probably would have turned back. As it was, driving over was slow goings. It was almost to the point where Troy thought he'd make it there faster walking -- Scarlet Oak wasn't so very big, after all -- but the thought of being completely drenched was not a pleasant one. Mostly, Troy had been anxious over other drivers, and the speed people were driving was understandably slower than usual. Pulling into the apartment complex parking lot, Troy ran up to the door and pressed the appropriate button, waiting for Lux to buzz him inside. Just that short jaunt out from his car was enough to soak through what he was wearing, despite how fast Troy was able to make it to the door. It wasn't exactly as if he had tried to get this wet, but it was definitely noticeable in the way his boots squeaked on the stairs as he made his way up to Lux's apartment.
Rapping his knuckles on the door sharply, Troy took a deep breath. Tucking his chin down slightly, he hunched his shoulders a little against the chill of the rain that was dripping off every inch of his clothing. After a long moment, when Lux finally opened the door, Troy gave her a very sweet, sheepish smile. Shrugging his shoulders lightly, he held his hands out at his sides, letting her see the water dripping from his fingertips. "I'd stay back a few feet if I were you. Can't have you getting all damp and angry," he mused, the teasing tone in his voice unmistakeable. After a few moments of just standing there, looking at her fondly, Troy smiled a genuine smile. "Hi there," he breathed, lifting an eyebrow as he waited to be invited inside. "Are you armed and ready with your bevy of towels?" It was easy to overlook pretty much anything that might ever trouble Troy when he was around Lux, and he did just that.
